Poundon House is a privately owned country house wedding venue, located on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border in a beautiful countryside setting that offers you exclusive use for Weddings, Receptions and Asian ceremonies.
Poundon House is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere as a wedding venue and has many years experience in hosting private events. From the moment you pass through the front gates and drive down the lime tree avenue, the mood is set for your perfect wedding day. We can cater to all your needs, be it a large outdoor marquee wedding reception or a smaller and more intimate event. We offer both the flexibility to either recommend suppliers or to work with ones of your choosing.
As you enter in to the house, a stone flagged hallway leads into three stunning reception rooms and a south facing terrace with exceptional views of the Buckinghamshire countryside. The striped front lawns are ideal for a drinks reception and a classic game of croquet. When your ready for your wedding breakfast you and your guests may wander up to the elegant marquee, situated on a lawn surrounded by a mature yew hedge and beautiful beech trees. As the sun goes down and the evening reception begins, the setting makes its true beauty apparent with up-lit trees creating an intimate setting for the evening.
We pride ourselves as being the opposite end of the spectrum from a hotel – flexible, creative and personal. This is your wedding day and we work with you to achieve the day that you are dreaming of. We give you the time to settle into Poundon, with full access the day prior to the wedding to dress the property and the option to return for a family lunch the day afterward.
Poundon House wedding venue is located in quiet countryside, on the border of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, only an hour from Central London and Birmingham with quick access to the M40 and a large choice of local accommodation, and whilst we have tried to describe the house, a visit is really necessary to appreciate the full beauty of the house and gardens.

It was very exciting to see @pitzhanger now that the boarding has come down and 3 years and numerous millions of renovation works completed at the preview opening today. I totally fell in love with this room and at first thought it was @degournay wallpaper and then realised it was #handpainted and each section in the room was different. It took one artist 6 months to complete the room. He based it on what was there originally. How much would we LOVE to have this here at Poundon House!!! There is also an @anish.kapoor exhibition at @pitzhanger Gallery so well worth checking this insanely beautiful country house to @soanemuseum out which officially opens tomorrow.

Her vegetarian Indian inspired love for food began from her grandmothers cooking. If her name is familiar that might be because she also has a cookbook, Saffron Soul, that tells her story of the food she loves. It’s really really good.
As if the cook books and pop ups aren’t enough she also has recently opened a C...hai cafe @chaibymira at @triyogauk Soho - her chai is famously delicious and worth a visit 😋

I went to a yoga retreat at Pounden and it was absolutely fabulous. The team is so caring, attentive and lovely. The house is full of charm and the lands are fabulous. I couldn't recommend it more, I left feeling just wonderful. xxx
