Customers E90 320i in to diagnose a permanent misfire on cylinder 4.
This car was running poorly, so after a quick compression test we found zero compression on cylinder 4. A cylinder leak test then confirmed what we see below, a leak past an exhaust valve.
Customer approved removal of the cylinder head to get a visual confirmation, turns out a burnt valve was the cause - certainly not a common everyday issue but could’ve been worse.

Airbag diagnostics today on this E90 330d.
Airbag diagnostics can be tricky, It’s vital to have a competent skill level using a multi meter along with access to electrical wiring data to get accurate resistance readings when testing individual airbag components.
This one needed a new wiring ‘clock spring’ on the drivers airbag due to stage 2 igniter circuit shorted to earth.
... Correctly diagnosing a fault like this is far far cheaper than you’d expect. We see many garages who replace components hoping that they get lucky and replace the correct one.....a very expensive and frustrating method, diagnostic time is key.

Think we might’ve found the cause of this Audi TT’s rough running.
Split breather hoses x 4 and a cracked dipstick tube.
Intake manifold drawing in a tonne of unmetered air....one poorly running TT.

Mark’s low mileage Audi TFSI in for coolant leaks.
This is a common issue on this engine, water pump or thermostat leaks or if you’re really unlucky.....both!
New genuine Audi thermostat and this one is good to go. Check out the size of the thermostat/housing.
