Precious Moments Family Wellbeing Description

Precious moments massage and yoga classes are run by qualified children's nurse and health visitor Liz. Classes are fun, friendly, relaxed, and extremely sociable and informative. Liz's extensive experience from over 20 yrs as a nursery nurse, children's nurse and health visitor provides huge added value to the sessions, and as a mummy of two she understands only too well the challenges faced during the early months of parenthood and offers invaluable support and guidance.

Massage and yoga have extensive benefits to parents and babies.
Liz is committed to making a difference and changing outcomes for children and families,
Massage is evidence based and proven to assist with the symptoms of colic, wind, constipation, teething and other minor ailments. As well as be incredibly beneficial to the parent /baby bond and attachment and has been known to help babies sleep better. , as well as boosting baby brain development and immune systems.

Yoga is known for it benefits to both physical and mental /emotional health for parents, children and babies alike. Baby yoga has elements that will benefit the adult taking part and if that is mum will help with realignment and recovery from birth (caution advised post C-section please contact Liz). However it is predominantly baby yoga and will encourage stretching, flexibility, and assist with meeting milestones, as well as physical, neurological and emotional development. It also has a lovely element of relaxation and sessions sample various methods and techniques for relaxation.

Children's yoga has a huge evidence base to support the benefits to children. It is particularly good in schools and promotes calmer classrooms and increased levels of concentration and really great for behaviour management. It will increase confidence, self -esteem, strength, flexibility and mindfulness. Through interactive games children learn the yoga postures. The relaxation and quieter elements are great for encouraging children to relax, close their eyes and learn to be still and quiet. It is especially good to see that they all give it a go! Even the wriggly ones and it is often their favourite part!

It would be lovely to hear from you and get your journey started and access those benefits for you and your baby /child straight away.

Thank goodness times have changed. Sadly this is how we learnt what not to do as these babies grew up. Instincts are there for a reason you all know exactly whats best for your baby (it will be different for all of you).

Apologies if you are waiting for replies/forms/payment confirmations. My daughter has an ear infection and spent alot of the day sorting out treatment. Thank you for your patience and understanding. All being well i will get back to it tomorrow xx

Always admire and agree with the wonderful Vimala McClure when it comes to baby massage and its origins amd benefits. Baby massage is certainly not "just a fad"

Looking for things to do over the summer? Anna's classes are really good. I took my girls for years.

User

Yes! Wander how many would take you up?

User

💪 mamas who did this today! If there had been a marathon today i suspect health and safety would have closed i down. Yet delivering a baby has been compared to running a marathon with no training (i saw this years a go in some literature on how child birth affects the body).so hats off ladies xx

Apologies for the slightly delayed replies. As it is now holidays i am working around my girls and mummy duties. I will absolutely reply to you all and get everyone into a space. Thank you so much for understanding xx

Just following on from my safe in the heat info if you are out and about and trying to shade baby from the sun just please be aware it is exceptionally dangerous to cover the pram with muslins, blankets, clothing etc. It makes the heat inside the pram rise massively and baby will overheat. Please use correctly designed and fitted shades. Keep safe and cool xxx

This week really is going to be exceptionally hot and very small babies can have issues regulating their temperature. Few ideas on here to ensure they stay safe and happy in the heat.

User

Lol! Love this! One for you all to let them try while its hot?!

Sat enjoying the sun at Holly Tree - So much more than just soft play with Caterpillar Music Newark after a lovely morning at our summer social get together.

I am posting about this lovely group again as someone was missing from the photo! Over the past three years once mummy returns to work I have had a few daddies (and a couple of grandma's), take over to enable baby to continue with classes they love and for them to also get the opportunity to enjoy that time together. One of our Daddies joined us for the whole of last term. Looking forward to September when we have two daddies and a grandma taking over!!
