The tutors in the Art department made my two years studying L3 art and design incredible! They are amazing tutors and I couldn't of asked for anyone better! I would 100% recommend studying art and design at Preston college!

User

The help & support I receive is endless, even at the age of 38 & with a recognised disability, the staff & fellow students have been great towards me from enrolling day to the day I first started my AAT accounting level 2 course to this present day. Education is there for everyone, when I started my first ever course at the old Great Shaw Street building back in Sept 1994, Preston in F.A.S.T. Word Processing at the age of 17, there was a 71 year old in my class known as Billy, most folk would think, what's the hell is here doing here particularly at his age? but my thoughts & praise were, all credit to the guy for wanting to learn something new & different before it's too late in life.

Education isn't about being sat in school, sat in a classroom, life's a learning process, no matter how young or old we are and the staff at Preston College, do a very good job encouraging just that! :-)

My child has recently left school and was left with no guidance at all and I have today spoken to one of the lecturers named Zack Wilkinson and he was extremely helpful in all areas which has resulted in me successfully applying my son onto the new courses available to him in September with as much support he needs I wasn’t aware this kind of support was available until I spoke with Zack today very impressed .Thank you

User

I'm currently studying for EDCL LEVEL 1 IT . I got made redundant and wanted to update my skills in this because that's why I was laid off. The tutor is Paul Hand and is really make sure you understand each part and so far I've passed 2 stages. They also have great facilities and there is also a Costa and a very good Food Hall with cheap prices for students. I'm also 51 so a mature student, lol and it just shows you are never too old to learn more. Hopefully this will help me get back into a full time job.. i passed the whole course because of Paul..Now on to Level 2 ICT.

User

I have been on the musical theatre course for the past 2 years, and it has given me so many opportunitys, I would highly reccomend this course, and have definatley made some friends that I'll have for life! The teachers have helped me with everything and are very helpful! I will definitely miss it☺️

User

I am a current student in my second year of the Level 3 Musical Theatre course here at Preston's College. My tutors over the past two years have put in lots of effort to help me grow as an individual performer, and have helped me and the rest of my class to develop our skills to go out and make it in the real world. Thanks to high quality teaching and experience in professional standard shows, I've been able to progress from Preston's College straight into drama school in Barcelona, where I'll start in September. The Performing Arts department here has provided me with fantastic, beneficial experiences, as well as given me excellent facilities in which to develop my skills as a performer. I wouldn't go anywhere else locally for Performing Arts.

What team?! PCOL!

I Attended PRESTON'S college early this year and did the personal training course, it was absolutely amazeballs! I had done a gym course prior to this through distant learning it was nothing compared to what I got taught here. Couldn't believe how much support I received, what a great bunch of teachers. nothing was to much trouble. Sometimes I struggle absorbing information but they had a way of helping you to remember, excellent teaching skills and extremely knowledgeable. I also did the circuit training course which I teach. I would definitely recommend this college.

Now I own my own studio in Preston where I teach pole fitness, aerial arts, personal training, circuit, the list is endless. I can honestly say my knowledge of fitness has grown immensely so a big THNK YOU to

Wendy Niki Sally and Matt

Hope to see you again in the near future

My friend arranged a basketball/football birthday party in the sports hall. Space provided for her to bring in her own food. Good value for money. Friendly staff. Building could have been cleaned better.

User

User

Went yesterday for my first maths class what I would say is as an adult I should be able to make the choice if I want to remove my coat are not but it seems it's now apart of the college rules very confused as to why me having my coat on will affect my ability to learn but very friendly college overall

User

First, when I started college, I did Performing arts level 2. I liked it at first, but then I realised how bad, unfair it really was. Most of the people that I knew didn't pass, and wasn't able to carry on towards level 3. Most of the ones that got onto level 3, were the tutors favourites. The people that I knew either left to go to a better college or go onto another course here at Preston's college. The staff are very picky about the students they want to join level 3. The main performing arts manager, she says she will never give up on her students, but she has shut her door on many.

I'm one of those who changed courses. I'm very glad I did, because Public services was the best course ever. It was 100 times better than Performing arts. The tutors are lovely, even if I've had small arguments with them a couple of times, they are all lovely. There's one thing I'm not too sure about, that is the student managers. You get one or even two for your course and they say "Come to us if you have any problems, or email us" but, if you email them anything, they don't get back to you at all. You just have to deal with these problems yourself. So, I'll never be able to understand what a student manager is for. I've been to mine a few times, and I wanted to get help with my future, such as what jobs I'd be able to get. But, funny thing is, they never helped me even though it was emailed to me to talk about jobs and employment. They let me down there. So I'm doing it on my own. When I first started here, my English was terrible. But, having a qualified tutor that actually knows the English language, she has taught me a lot, and I appreciate that a lot. My maths on the other hand, was and is terrible. I didn't get the help I needed and the tutor was rubbish.

For recommendations I don't recommend Preston's college to any school leavers. If you're wanting to start there, you may because it's completely your choice. But, don't go to performing arts because you will be treated unfairly and discriminated.

User

Worse college yet. If you're a school leaver and thinking of Preston's college, I suggest you think again. The amount of bullying going on is disgusting, not only by students but teachers too. Vile. The amount of favoritism is outrageous, never been to a college like this status one. I wouldn't recommend this college to anyone!

User

What is the point of saying both on the website and on the new 2017-2018 course guide that you offer Maths A-level as a course and then when you apply to do it change tack completely and say you aren't offering A-level provision anymore? Please update your website and literature if you aren't offering a course anymore because it's misleading. Anyone thinking of doing a-levels at Preston College don't bother applying because apparently they don't do them anymore

User

This place is a shit hole they condone bullying, even to the point they excuse by stating the bully is going through problems, not like the problems caused by bullying.. Don't stay there

User

They never return your phone calls. Reception staff are a joke and should all be sacked. Management is an even bigger joke! Ofsted open your eyes!

User

My daughter has recently applied for this college, been through the stress and worry of the application interview and was then offered a conditional place so she was over the moon. We have today received a letter saying the college has now stopped doing A level courses and left her and probably many others completely in the lurch 4 months before she is due to start. I was told I would receive a phone call back explaining this and in keeping with the college, I was let down again and have received no phone call. I find this absolutely disgraceful and would definitely advise people to apply elsewhere. Totally unreliable and don't even have the decency to return a phone call.
