Just had my lunch at Prezzo Ely.

One of the best restaurant. The service was amazing, I will definitely come back. Delicious food and good costumer service! Keep it up guys and big THANK YOU!

User

I just wanted to thank the staff at prezzo for last night, especially the waitress who tendered our table. We were a group of 10 ladies celebrating our friends “Game of thrones” themed 40th and they really did go out to make it a lovely evening.

Right from booking the table to paying for the amazing food, nothing was too much trouble and the service was with a smile.

Thank you so much 😃

User

Excellent on every level, staff was professional yet welcoming with the Italian friendliness you would expect. Their passion for great food and warm hospitality is so appreciated!

This evening (21/10/16) I took my children for a meal here. My eldest child is autistic and my youngest is currently going through processes due to his ways. I try to take them out as much as I can to socialise them and allow them the experience into what should be expected of them socially. What I didn't expect was a very rude woman sitting alone and not far from us to tut and wait for us to leave to moan at me about my children's behaviour. I don't need to justify myself nor their special needs to anyone. But I would ask as a courtesy that when anyone sees a parent struggle while they're out with their children to have a little understanding. Whilst I don't expect you to understand that my children have to understand how to be socially inclusive I also don't have to accept your ignorance.

Food was lovely and the staff even more so. I'm just sorry they were put in a position due to a moronic customer.

I had very nice meal here. Quality of food and speed of service was very much to my liking. Fortunately for me restaurant offers number of meals in glutan free version.

User

Always a nice meal at Prezzo's but pricey but Tesco Vouchers are a great help. Staff are always friendly.

User

The service was absolute shit!!!!

Cold food!

Ignored by the waitress

Another table who came in an hour after us a as served ate and given there bill while we were ignored.

Food was OK

But service was terrible.

User

Ordered a take away pasta with sausage and chicken dish. When I returned home, I found there to be no chicken or sausage in the dish... Throughly disappointed, expected better from a usually amazing restaurant. Will not recommend for take aways

User

Not impressed by Prezzo French fries now, they have changed them, I asked and they said yes they have! It's obvious the new ones are cheap, lots of little bad bits and different colours in the potatoes, some brownish and some yellows! Not nice like they used to be. Also they used to do a nice burger that my husband liked, now it's a double burger, too much for him, so he's not happy either.

User

First of all, they couldn't locate my booking! I had previously gone into the restaurant to book face to face. Eventually got told they had found my booking but it was for 4 people, not 7!!! Not a great start to my birthday celebrations. We were eventually taken upstairs and basically "put in a corner " so it felt. Waitress was very abrupt, service was terrible and unfortunately the food was not up to the usual standard. A very disappointing visit.

We visit Prezzo Ely regularly. Not quite once a week but nearly. The food is generally good and quick to arrive and the children like their food options which with tired, hungry four year olds is a must.

So, to this week’s experience. We went into the restaurant on Tuesday to book a tea time table for Friday for 9 of us, three families, end of half term treat! We were told they were already too busy and we could not book. The duty manager showed us the booking sheet that clearly stated ‘no more big tables’ highlighted on it yet only had I think 5 bookings written in. We pointed out that three of the party are children and that there didn’t seem to be many bookings and finally managed to negotiate that we would have a table for 6 to eat earlier than we hoped at 1715 for the Mummies and children but that we had to be gone by 1900 as they needed the table back. Ok, not great but we will take it. They put pineapple on the pizza which is important when you are four years old.

As I said, we are in there often and it doesn’t ever seem to be that busy but they do seem to struggle if there are too many tables in. Maybe there are too many tables for the staff to cope with and they have to leave some empty. Seems strange but ???

We decided we then felt bad about leaving out the Daddies so called at lunchtime on Friday to see if we could book them a separate, later table for three. We were told that there was “an emergency in the kitchen” and that it was “unlikely the restaurant would be open that evening” so we could not book. We explained we already had a booking and were told that someone would call us to confirm. No one called us on either number they had so we assumed they were closed and ambled up to the High Street about 1730. To our surprise, Prezzo were open! So in we went, pineapple pizza incoming! Hooray! We were immediately turned away by the duty manager. I pointed out we had a booking at which she fetched the booking sheet which was now nearly full of bookings!!!! “Yes she said, you did not turn up” (it was about 1745 by now) Yes we told her, when we called at lunch time we were told you were likely to be closed and no one called back so we assumed you were. We therefore didn’t rush to get here as we were planning to go somewhere else. The duty manager told us that she had “only started at 3pm and knew nothing about it”, no apology or anything then! I then pointed out how many more bookings were on the sheet than there had been when we came in on Tuesday. I asked the duty manager to show my friend and she refused, clutching the clipboard to her chest and saying it was “hers” and “private”. I asked why weren’t we able to book the table we wanted on Tuesday when clearly lots more bookings had been taken and was told that the duty manager couldn’t book us in because she wouldn’t know how many tables she would need on the Friday night. Now I’m no restaurant owner but surely a guaranteed table of 9 is better than waiting to see who walks in? I pointed out that we do come in regularly, as the duty manager clearly knows as she appears to be on the evenings shift and did that not count for anything? Could she not squeeze us in? We were told no so I asked for the Manager. No manager, only her, the duty manager. So I asked for the Manager’s email and was given the restaurant card. So I asked for the Manager’s name as was told she wouldn’t give it to me as it was private. Absolutely shocking customer service towards regular, loyal customers when clearly the booking system and communications of the restaurant were the problem. So we left. Cue tantrum outside for one small child because she wasn’t going to get pineapple pizza. Thanks for that too Prezzo.

We strolled up to PizzaExpress. They welcomed us with an open door and open arms, their lovely Manager taking one look at us and asking “What would you like to drink ladies?”...............

To start with they got our starter wrong. Secondly, my friend ordered the calzone which comes with a tomato based sauce. The sauce was cold and she complained. The waitress who was serving us started to tell us it was supposed to be cold and then changed her mind and said it was supposed to be hot. She asked if we wanted hot sauce brought over, but my friend (who had, not unreasonably, expected the sauce to be hot) had already put it over her calzone, making the calzone covered in cold sauce, which obviously is not acceptable or yummy! They agreed to cook her a new meal but then asked me if I would like my risotto to be kept warm! It took about 20-30 mins for them to cook the calzone, how they were planning on keeping the risotto warm for that long without it going dry or stale (especially as it has rice in it) is worrying. I said that I was okay, as I wanted my meal fresh, but we did not get that option at all. Meaning my friend had to watch me eat, which was uncomfortable. Then, once I had finished my meal, my friend’s meal arrived, meaning I had to watch her eat.

How the staff dealt with our complaint was, at best, absolutely appalling. We were offered no apology, no discount, no drink whilst we waited. I have had better customer service from McDonalds. Not only that once we had paid, we asked for an email address to complain to and for the manager’s name so we could make a complaint. We got told it was on the menu, which it isn’t! We mentioned this and they told us to wait over by the sofas near the door. We waited 15 minutes and still no one came over, so I asked for the manager. We were told the manager was upstairs. That was all they said! I had to ask for them to get the manager and meet usr. The manager came over, still no apology, handed us a telephone number and left. That was it. No apology and no respect for customers! I have, quite frankly, not seen that level of service in any restaurant before. I would certainly never recommend dining in Prezzos to any of my friends and family and would explain this experience to them, mentioning how Prezzos seem to have no respect for their customers.

Terrible experience. Last night I Called to make a reservation, received a birthday voucher from a friend. Arrived at restaurant not many people were dining, they put us upstairs in the cold with no atmosphere, and then refused to accept voucher because I didn't book online. Staff were rude. Perhaps If we had sat down stairs in the warm where there was a little more atmosphere & staff were pleasant perhaps we would have stayed and paid. Instead we went to Wildwood over the road and had a great meal. I had no problems with another voucher I received when we went to bury st Edmunds prezzo. We will never go to the Ely one again! Rude staff! Empty restaurant! Cold temperature and atmosphere! No where on the voucher does it say you need to book online, it does say however you need a reservation, which we had. A complaint will be written to their head office. Awful place, so cross.

User

My friend and I had a horrific meal followed by horrific service!! My calzone came out with cold sauce I put it on my food to realise. They tried to tell me it was supposed to be cold followed by it's not once I said I'd had it beside. Took 30 mins to make a new one by that time my friend had finished so we may as well gone out separate. Gone majorly down hill used to really enjoy prezzo!!! Massive

Last night, 18/2/18 me and my partner and his two children came to your restaurant for his birthday meal. We ordered the humous for a starter and then went in to order 1 posh pepperoni, 2 margaritas, the Gorgonzola and 3 sides of fries.

I have to say we were really unimpressed, the pizzas we couldn’t cut them for no love or money, they were rock solid and tasted like charcoal and burnt. We in fact left half of each pizza, the large one due to this as we just couldn’t be bothered to cut it.

The pasta for the Gorgonzola was very stodgy and well over cooked.

With drinks we spent around £75, I feel that it wasn’t worth it at all. Normally with Prezzo I come away feeling chuffed and full however I came away feeling very disappointed and a burnt taste in my mouth.

Is there anything you can do Prezzo of Ely?

Regards,

Louis

Didn’t understand what ‘vegan’ meant, gave me the gluten free menu twice! Didn’t know what ‘mayonnaise’ was. Found a piece of ham in my vegan pizza - they couldn’t have been less interested. I won’t be back.
