🔥TECHNIQUE TIP🔥
🔥The "Rack Pull"🔥
The rack pull is a little more advanced than the kettlebell deadlift, with this exercises we are giving ourselves an advantage with a limited range of motion by pulling a barbell from just below the knee.
... This compound exercise is great for total body strength as you have the opportunity to really load the barbell and pull some heavier weight, it hits a huge number of muscles in the body, but primarily the posterior chain (all of the muscles down the back of the body, back muscles, legs and bum.
+ Place a barbell on the rack just below the knee
+ Stand roughly shoulder width apart with your shins 1 inch from the barbell
+ Push your bum back whilst maintaining a small bend in the knee (hip hinge) until your hands can grasp the handles
+ Take a gulp of air into the belly and tighten up the abdominals
+ Explode off the floor using the entire body as a strong unit driving your hips into the barbell and squeezing the glutes at the top
+ Reverse the movement by pushing the bum back with that minimal knee bend and return to the starting position
Give this exercise a try if you want to build muscle and strength especially in your back and lower body, stay tuned for our next installment for a more advanced version of the rack pull.

Common Question:
... Why am I not seeing improvements in my body fat % should I be doing more in order to improve my body fat % on my InBody results?
The answer to this question has a few variables to consider:
🍏 Are you eating within your calorie deficit?
🏋️‍♀️ Are you training frequently enough?
📆 Are you being consistent with the above?
If you answer yes to all 3 of the questions above, then you WILL see results. You are eating within your calorie deficit and you're hitting the gym frequently so you should see steady results! 🏋️‍♀️🥗⏳
If you do not think you're eating within your deficit or you are not training frequently, then you may see slow or non existent results. 😩
It's all about being in the right energy balance , if you're looking to lose weight or drop body fat, then you must be in a negative energy balance, this can be a mixture of burning calories in workouts and eating within a calorie deficit.

🔥TECHNIQUE TIP🔥
🔥Trap bar deadlift 🔥
The trap bar deadlift is one of the best exercises for total body strength development. It hits numerous muscles in the body, its safe and it is often a comfortable and relatively easy exercise to master!
... This exercise is perfect for those who have suffered from lower back pain and poor hip mobility, some of us simply don't possess the pre requisite mobility to be able to deadlift comfortably and safely from the floor with a conventional barbell, this is when the trap bar comes in!
🔥Step inside the trap bar
🔥Ensure that you are equidistant in the centre of the trap bar with your feet around shoulder width apart
🔥With a small bend in the knee, push your hips back whilst hinging forward and grabbing hold of the bars at your side (hip hinge)
🔥Take a huge gulp of air into the belly, pull the shoulders back and down, lock those abs in tight!
🔥Explode off the floor using the entire body as a strong unit squeezing the glutes at the top
🔥Reverse the movement back to your starting position
This exercise really is a big bang for your buck, if you want to get strong, and build muscle, this one is for you!

One of the most common questions we get asked about lifting weights is...
... “will it make me big and bulky”
Well I can tell you from personal experience that the answer is “NO”
Before I started training I thought the same thing too
And in fact I was big and bulky before I started lifting weights as part of my Primal weight loss training program.

Normal story of 3 great kids, working too many hours, travelling, eating on the run and before you know it everything is out of control.



By chance I found Primal fitness. My wife bought me a 30 day tester and once I knew she had spent money, I knew I had to make the most of it. I think I did 5 classes per week in the beginning.



If I was to say what Primal fitness’s best USP is, it would be everyone is treat the same. Everyone gets a warm welcome, everyone is greeted by name and the members are all after the same goal. It is a very comfortable training zone for people of all sizes, male or female and al fitness levels.



30 days soon went and I signed up for 1 year.



The staff are great and you very quickly feel part of the community.

Loved it so much that I’ve renewed my membership for a second year. I started off on the 8 week programme and wow so different to the average run of the mill gym. The coaches are brilliant and can alter any exercise if you have any injuries. There’s weigh-in and measurements so you can keep track of not only weight loss but inch loss. There is also a nutrition programme to follow if you want, but there’s no pressure if you don’t want to follow it.



It’s one of the best things I’ve done and would highly recommend Primal Fitness.

If you’re reading this review then you’re likely looking for a gym. I’ve been to many gyms over the years and always found that my original enthusiasm decreased quite quickly.



That didn’t happen at Primal! It’s more than a gym- it becomes just a way of life.



Here’s why:



The coaches WANT to know your aims!



They can complete a ‘hi-tech’ inbody scan, to devise a personalised training programme for you each month.



The coaches are super friendly, non judgemental and genuinely want to help you. It all feels very personalised. They give you feedback and will always be available with advice.



The sessions are really varied and challenging. The coaches want you to do well and encourage you. They teach you how to do well.



You can see your effort in sessions on screen and it’s tracked on your mobile using ‘myzone’. You can finally see how much effort you are putting in, in real time.



The other members are really supportive and extremely friendly. They’ll ask how you are getting on and chat with you. You don’t feel like a ‘new starter’



There is a whole nutrition package and online system that helps you track what you eat.



Coaches advise you on types of food and nutrition to suit you and your aims. You can even get a shopping list sent to your phone to help you with the hundreds of healthy meals they’ve devised.



It has a family feel that other gyms I’ve been to just can’t create.



So, if you’re looking for a place to finally make a change to your lifestyle then I would advise looking no further than primal!

I originally signed up for a 30 day trial to assist with my fitness ahead of a summer of running.

After two sessions I knew I’d made a great choice in joining Primal.



The Primal team are fantastic. Offer great support and encouragement and really work hard to get the best out of you and help you achieve your goals.

The classes are structured and never over crowded like some other gyms I’ve worked with which is great as it allows the trainers to advise and adapt sessions to your needs.



The other members at Primal are great. It’s like a fitness family. Everyone supports one another and there’s no big egos.



I’ve since went on to sign up for the year and train at Primal at least three times a week which has really assisted my running. I feel fitter, I feel stronger, I’ve lost weight and as a result run quicker.
