Good Morning, with a brief “heat wave” predicted in the next few days why not get out and catch the sun as well as some fish.
Here are this weekend’s Worthing high tides times:
Friday 31st May: 09:53 (5.2m), 22:15 (5.5m)
... Saturday 1st June: 10:35 (5.5m), 22:55 (5.8m)
Sunday 2nd June: 11:17 (5.7m), 23:35 (6.0m)
This past week coincided with small tides and spells of wind which coloured the water which saw plenty of small Smoothounds caught, mainly from Shoreham beaches through to East Preston. A two day match fished from East Preston last weekend saw Smoothounds up to around 4lb, odd decent fish such as a sizable Bass, Undulate Ray, small Stingray as well as the usual Schoolies, Eels and small Plaice. No dogfish were caught surprisingly yet turned up in numbers the following day.
Worthing Pier has produced Dogfish, a few better Smoothounds and Undulate Rays. Best chance of double figure Hound is again from Bognor through to Bracklesham.
Stingrays are still about though the ones caught recently have been considerably smaller than of late but the warmer weather could see some better fish come out from Bognor and Aldwick. Undulate Rays are still popping up randomly and the night tides should see a few decent ones caught from Widewater to the Burrells at Shoreham.
The first few Mackerel have been taken from the East and West Arms at Shoreham and numbers should steadily increase from now on and they could appear from Worthing Pier soon but best fishing for them will most likely be from Brighton Marina.
This week coming the fishing should offer many species to target, from big fish such as Congers, Rays and Hounds mainly during darkness, to the small fish such as Plaice, Flounders, Black Bream, Silver Eels, Gurnards, Bass, Garfish, Mackerel, and Black Bream during the day.
To reserve bait for this weekend ring the shop on 01903-821594 to book and check for availability, Apologises for any problem with this phone number previously but this should be fully fixed now. Blow Lug and King Rag are due in today but always best to phone as these can sell out very quickly, plus we have all the usual frozen baits back in stock.
If you need any advice on fishing locally also worth a phone call or visit us at the shop as we are always willing to help, we are located at 26 Marine Parade, Worthing, BN11 3PT, only a couple of minutes’ walk from Worthing Pier, so feel free to come in and have a look around. We have lots more new items and a larger range of tackle in stock and more due in on a daily basis.
Please remember if you would like to share your catch pictures or reports of any fish or fishing sessions regardless of Sea/Freshwater no matter how big or small and would like us to publish it message us and send both a picture and brief details.
Good luck!

Apologies for the recent problems with the phone number. Unbelievably it has taken almost 6 weeks to get our phone number ported to the new shop. Anyway, it is now done and our old number is current and active. 01903 821594 Cheers!

Good Morning, yet another long Bank Holiday weekend is upon us so even more time to go fishing with a mixture of weather forecast this should lead to some good fishing especially now the smaller tides have set in.
Here are this weekend’s Worthing high tides times:
Friday 24th May: 15:54 (5.3m)
... Saturday 25th May: 04:05 (5.0m), 16:41 (5.0m)
Sunday 26th May: 04:58 (4.7m), 17:40 (4.7m)
Monday 27th May: 06:04 (4.4m), 18:42 (4.6m)
This weekend and into next week coincides with small tides and spells of wind which should colour the water allowing anglers a chance of catching some Congers and Rays which are a realistic capture to big fish baits.
This past week has seen some very good fishing for Undulate Rays mainly on the beaches around Shoreham to fish or crab baits during darkness with a few sizable Bass and plenty of Dogfish.
Smoothounds are still not about in any numbers locally as yet with most in the 2-4lb bracket although a couple of fish caught were over 10lb. Again your best areas to catch these fish would be from Aldwick, Pagham, Selsey and Bracklesham using crab bait.
Black Bream seem to have established themselves and have been caught from most venues recently and there also has been some nice sized Sole appear from the shore and the Harbour Arms at Shoreham.
Stingrays have still been a popular target for a lot of anglers with a few reported but at present not many fish are being caught in relation to the amount of people trying for them but it is not often an angler has a genuine chance of catching a British Record fish locally so it is always worth a try of catching one of these magnificent creatures.
Still a variety of species can be realistically caught, from big fish such as Congers, Rays and Hounds, to the small fish such as Plaice, Flounders, Black Bream, Pouting, Silver Eels, Gurnards, Bass to lug and rag and Mullet have been caught in numbers in settled weather from the local rivers.
To reserve bait for this weekend ring the shop on 01903-821594 to book and check for availability. Black Lug, Blow Lug and King Rag are due in today but always best to phone as these can sell out very quickly, plus we have all the usual frozen baits back in stock.
If you need any advice on fishing locally also worth a phone call or visit us at the shop as we are always willing to help. Remember if you did not know we are now located at 26 Marine Parade, Worthing, BN11 3PT, only a couple of minutes’ walk from Worthing Pier, so feel free to come in and have a look around.
Good luck & tight lines!

Good Morning, with a decent weather forecast predicted and big tides this weekend tides should offer both the daytime and night time angler the possibility of some good fishing.
Here are this weekend’s high tides times:
Friday 17th May: 11:03 (6.0m) 23:27 (6.3m)
... Saturday 18th May: 11:51 (6.1m)
Sunday 19th May: 00:12 (6.4m), 12:36 (6.2m)
Dogfish again continue to dominate catches locally with fish baits and Peeler Crab best baits. Smoothounds are about and fish to 5lb have been caught if they get a chance to take the baits before the dogfish, small bass and eels. Some better sized Bass have been caught mainly from the beaches when the water has been coloured and choppy.
Stingrays to 65lb have been caught from Bognor and Aldwick beaches although they a viable target from Climping through to Pagham. Undulate Rays are about but as with the Stingers your best chance is from Climping to Selsey with the East Beach also producing good sized Black Bream and some double figure Smoothounds occasionally.
Plenty of Summer fish species have been appearing from Shoreham and Lancing beaches during the day with fish such as Plaice, Flounders, Gilt Head Bream, Black Bream, Gurnards, Bass to lug and rag and it is only a matter of time before Golden Grey Mullet show to red rag.
Big tides and calm seas will see Garfish caught with a chance of the odd Mackerel and a possibility of Squid if the water is clear enough.
A few sizable Plaice continue to be caught although they are smaller and fewer in number than the last month or so.
If you require bait for this weekend ring the shop on 01903-821594 to book and check for availability. Blow Lug and King Rag are due in today and with these bigger tides we will have Black Lug but best to phone as these can sell out very quickly, plus we have all the usual frozen baits. If you need any advice on fishing locally also worth a ring or visit to the shop as we are always willing to help. Good Morning, following a couple of days of windy weather the weekend ahead is looking more settled, shorter tides and coloured water inshore should offer the possibility of some good fishing locally.
Here are the high tides times for this weekend:
Friday 10th May: 15:50 (5.5m)
... Saturday 11th May: 04:11 (5.3m) 16:54 (5.2m)
Sunday 12th May: 05:20 (5.0m), 18:19 (5.0m)
The last few days has seen a few more reasonable sized Bass caught from the beaches and Pier, mainly when the seas have been choppy and baits such as Peeler crab have picked up fish mainly in the 2 to 3lb bracket. Undulate Rays are also being caught in numerous spots along with Dogfish. These should continue to show in next few days and the evening tides ahead and chance of Congers of various sizes.
Thornback Rays have again appeared at Eastbourne venues and have also been some caught in the Pagham and Selsey areas along with Undulates, and a few Spotted Rays. The occasional Stingray has been caught and these will remain a viable target for the next month or so and best chances as always is from Climping to Pagham.
Smoothounds are again showing to double figures mainly Selsey beaches although are not in numbers and a few very good sized Black Bream have been coming out to mainly fish and squid baits. Hounds have been caught more locally but are small fish with odd ones to 3lb reported. Odd better fish caught from the Pier.
This week has seen plenty of species caught although not in numbers, Plaice and Flounders are still showing mostly Shoreham through to Seaford, a slight increase in Mackerel numbers from Brighton Marina along with Squid. Slightly surprising has been a few Scad caught both by anglers and the inshore netters, taken by anglers targeting the Garfish and Black Bream.
If you require bait for this weekend ring the shop on 01903-821594 to book and check for availability. Blow Lug and King Rag are in stock plus all the usual frozen baits.
