Prime Evil is our fast, comfortable 40-foot cruiser, ideal for those looking for fast, safe passages. Fitted with roller reefing Genoa, and with batten cars on the main she is as easy to sail as the next boat.

What sets her apart is the attention to detail that enables you to sail her with the minimum of effort. For example, how many charter yachts have an easily rigged trisail enabling you to sail downwind in a blow without worrying about the boom? Or have instruments mounted on the mast that mean you can see the data you want wherever people sit in the cockpit?

Down below she benefits from a full-size chart table, with chart plotter, GPS and VHF all to hand. In the galley you will find another of those little touches that make a difference. Her specially manufactured gimble lock allows you to open the oven at sea - without your dinner ending up on the cabin sole. Elsewhere you will find a double cabin with en suite head and shower, a double in the forepeak, twin bunk cabin on the portside aft and two singles and second head /shower in the saloon. This with generous locker space ensures everyone has the space they need whether cruising for the weekend or longer.

Under power, her new engine ensures reliability, while the wheel steering provides a positive feel with an unbelievably tight turning circle. With a folding prop you get virtually no drag while sailing - something she excels at! With a Number 3 Genoa on the furling gear and full main she easily exceeds 7 knots, yet remains stable and easy to helm. In 20 knots she will do 6 knots upwind with a reef in the main and nobody on the wheel! Once the wind picks up further you can choose whether to keep the main up, cruise with just the Genoa (5-6 knots 40 degrees off the wind in 25 knots of breeze) or change from the main to the trisail to take away the worries of an accidental gybe.

All in all she is a bit different to your average charter yacht, while retaining the simplicity found on Bavaria and Jeanneau's for example, as witnessed by the fact that we often run courses on her with as few two students.
