Primrose & Mabel patterns are designed by hand in our Berkshire studio. All our products bring a little sparkle & joy to those who enjoy them.

Primrose and Mabel is owned by me, designer maker Jo Richards. I'm a professionally trained photographer by trade, who has enjoyed crafting , sewing and art for as long as I can remember. After having my two children, I decided to make a huge career change, which developed into designing a beautiful range of exclusive
patterns, which have been used to create gorgeous fabrics, wall art, cards, stationery, decor, homewares and much much more.
All my pattern designs start life as watercolour paintings, pencil sketches and digital etchings, and are transformed into gorgeous stationery, accessories for your home, and art for your appreciation.

The origin of the name? Primrose and Mabel were my two, delightful, beautiful, kind, happy and extremely loved Grandmothers, the best Mums, Nans and Great Nannys you could ever ask for, who taught me how to sew, knit, crochet and to appreciate the beautiful things in life. They taught me the importance of being happy, and how the simplest of things can bring a smile to someone's face, and just how valuable that it. I hope my designs bring a smile to my customers' faces too.
