Preschool children have been planning a special gift for Miss Robinson for her wedding during the half term break. They have designed and made her a dress and a tiara which they gave to her today, as predicted Miss Robinson loved her new outfit and wore it with pride. We would like to wish Miss Robinson lots of luck on her wedding day! ūüíĖūüéČūüćÄūüĎįūüŹľūü§ĶūüŹľ

The day The Gingerbread Man visited our Reception setting!

User

That mischievous Gingerbread Man also had an explore of Sid the snails home! Poor Sid didn’t know what to do other than hide away in his shell, thankfully the Gingerbread Man and his friends quickly disappeared! The children could not believe their eyes!

Developing our children’s fine motor skills in preparation for early writing was high on the agenda today with some string painting. The children enjoyed the patterns the string made and all the new colours they created from mixing the colours.

Preschool children have been enjoying investigating the tadpoles ūüźł, they already know so much about life cycles and really enjoy observing them each day.

Oh my word! You will not believe what happened this afternoon in Reception during the afternoon register! We were interrupted with a video of The Gingerbread Man, he had been with his friends in our classrooms and left crumbs around the setting. The children searched for clues and initiated a range of activities including writing a list of questions for Mr Gingerbread, creating passports for him, making models of him, baking gingerbread men in the home area, wanted posters, investigating world maps and much more. What a fantastic afternoon! Enjoy the video!

Fun in the sun in our Preschool setting! The children have been enjoying hunting for mini beasts, working in our digging area and using the walk way that Mr Rooke, our school caretaker, has made for them. Thank you Mr Rooke!

Thank you so much! We have had an overwhelming response to our request for postcards regarding The Gingerbread man and his adventures, the children will be delighted to read them. I must say you have some creative family and friends from the ones I read today. Please pass on our thanks to them all as it really is greatly appreciated ūüĎćūüŹĽūüėÄ

WE NEED YOUR HELP ūüĎćūüŹĽūü§ěūüŹĽūü§ę The Reception team need your help! (please don‚Äôt tell the children). Over the coming weeks the focus story is ‚ÄėThe Gingerbread Man‚Äô, the staff have planned for him to escape from the classroom and start his adventures. They are asking if you visit anywhere, have family on holiday or who live in a different part of the UK or world, please could they send a postcard to the Reception children at Prior‚Äôs Mill saying they have spotted him? Including a messa...ge about what they were doing when they spotted him and that they tried to stop him but he ran away shouting that they couldn‚Äôt catch him. The children will be astonished that he has ran away and has been spotted! This will also enable them to explore many parts of the United Kingdom as well as many other countries. Thank you ūüėä Our school Address is; Prior‚Äôs Mill CE Primary School, Clifton Avenue, Billingham, TS22 5BX Many thanks ūüėÄ

The children have loved watching and holding the chicks over the past few days. They have already gained so much knowledge with regard to life cycles, caring for the chicks and general knowledge about chicks. Many more learning opportunities and experiences to come next week. Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•

I am relieved to share with you all that our remaining eggs and exhausted chicks are all doing well in their incubators today. A little late in hatching causing us some concern but our little fluffy babies are all up and chirping away. Big thank you to Mrs Orley for checking on them overnight and today for us, they will be reunited with their siblings later this afternoon #chickwatch #chicklife #chickworries ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£

Here is a video of one of the nursery chicks hatching today. You can see how exhausted it is once it hatches but they quickly dry out and fluff up. Some of our children have been lucky today to watch this happen first hand which is a wonderful experience for them ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•

Chick watch has been high on the agenda today in all of our settings, children and staff have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of our chicks and we have been very fortunate so far! We have our fingers crossed that more will hatch over night ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£

Eggciting day today as we took delivery of 3 incubators and 30 eggs! Egg watch starts tomorrow in all of our settings and the competition is on to see which setting has the first chick hatch ūüź£. Already so many learning opportunities have arisen starting with developing and extending language skills, knowledge and understanding of life cycles and chicks, writing and counting........ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£ū üź•ūüź£ūüź•ūüź£
