Prochaete Description
The world's population is expanding, and the more people, the more food we need to produce. All of us at Prochaete have worked in the seafood industry for a long time, and we've become increasingly concerned about sourcing of genuinely sustainable feed for shrimp farmers and finfish farmers. Our feed is produced using polychaetes (marine worms), which are farmed in Europe under conditions of strict biosecurity. Over the years, research has shown that polychaetes are a source of high-quality protein - as good as, if not better then, fish meal. Our feed has an optimal fatty acid profile, and also contains factors important for the maturation process in many farmed species. Polychaetes are one of the natural taste enhancers in the marine environment - so we're working with Mother Nature, not against her!
