About Progress Theatre Reading

Reading's premiere theatre company: producing a programme of varied, interesting and challenging drama to the highest standard for the past 70 years.

Progress Theatre Reading Description

Progress has been creating excellent theatre in Reading for 70 years. As a registered Charity we are committed to promoting education in the performing arts as well as producing a programme of varied, interesting and challenging drama to the highest standard. Progress is entirely run and maintained by volunteers.

We have a production in the theatre every month except August, host music and fringe events as well as jazz concerts in partnership with Jazz in Reading. We produce the Reading Open Air Shakespeare annually in the enchanting settings of Caversham Court Gardens during July.

Our intimate 96 seat venue has a fully licensed bar and is the oldest producing theatre in Reading. There is wheelchair access to the Theatre with a seat for disabled patrons and their carer.
Progress has a thriving Youth Theatre, a Writers’ Group, the Friends of Progress and the Members themselves.

We are members of the Little Theatre Guild (LTG) and the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) and we are a registered in England as a charity (no. 205440).

Loved seeing Hamlet last night! Well done everyone Having previously been a youth member at progress for nearly a decade, this theatre is close to my heart. Progress always put on an impressive, visionary show that has a lot of energy and hard work put into every aspect of running it. Amazing community, thank you for being in Reading xxxxx

Altro che teatro amatoriale qui in UK, sono bravissimi e ci mettono l'impegno dei professionisti.
