π¦ Here's a few bits of advice if you are worried about whether your baby is fit to go swimming or not:
Babies can swim any time before or after their immunisations.
If your baby has a mild cold/runny nose, there is no reason to keep them away... from the pool but if they are running a temperature itβs probably wise to keep them off swimming.
If your baby is suffering from diarrhoea they must stay away from a pool for two weeks - this is a health and safety advisory from the Public Health Department and applies to all swimming lessons across the UK.
π¦ Also, try a few preventative actions too:
Drying your babyβs ears properly can prevent ear infections. You can dry the ear canal by gently tipping the head to one side and then the other to allow natural drainage.
Whilst having wet hair in the outside wonβt give you a cold, it isnβt a very nice feeling, so think about bringing a hat, along with warm clothing for when you leave the pool after your lesson.

Maybe not such an obvious one when your little one is surrounded by water π¦ but if you're swimming outdoors - in the sea or at an outdoor pool - and it is a warm, sunny day π, you need to make sure you all keep hydrated π₯
Keep safe and keep swimming! π© β οΈ π
Both you and your little one can have great fun swimming but thereβs also plenty of advantages to taking swimming lessons too.
π¦ It helps your baby build confidence in the water, and you too if you lack water-confidence.
π¦ The bonding experience is second-to-none β there is lots of eye contact and skin-to-skin, strengthening the wonderful bond between parent and child.
... π¦ Swimming is the only time your baby can feel truly independent.
π¦ Swimming gives your baby the opportunity to develop higher brain functions, co-ordination and core muscle development, earlier than their non-swimming peers.
π¦ Regular swimming can help improve eating and sleeping patterns.
π¦ Encouraging a baby to take regular exercise, such as swimming, will make it easier to establish a healthy lifestyle in the future.

A family holiday abroad can be a really wonderful experience - showing the children somewhere new, taking a break from life back home and, our priority of course, splashing around in a new pool or even the sea! π¦π
But taking the whole family away on a trip abroad can start to get a bit of a pricey π°affair, especially when your little ones no longer get their free seats on the plane! We spotted this great blog post from Wander Mum - Family Travel Blog with some really useful tips on keeping the costs down - https://buff.ly/2vGgCTD

Puddle Ducks is built on a very simple premise, summed up in our Mission Statement. The business was founded on a unique ethos of bonding and confidence for parent and child combined with a clear understanding of child development from birth.
Puddle Ducks has built a national programme of baby swimming that leads naturally to graceful and efficient swimming. We are committed to ensuring this programme remains relevant, innovative and fun. To this end, our programmes are conti...nually developed supported by experts in child psychology, child development and midwifery.
Our passion and expertise for teaching swimming in a fun and individually tailored way is at the heart of everything we do.

Exclusively for those progressing through Little Dippers, our Dippers and Dabblers classes are all about preparing our little swimmers for the day they go into the water without their adult, either in our Swim Academy or with primary school or another provider π¦
The beauty of our programme is its adaptability; we can see a three year old with no swimming experience entering our Little Dippers programme and another three year old in Dabblers, achieving their 10m badge, and eve...rything in between! In these levels, our focus is on helping children realise their swimming potential, whilst teaching personal survival skills to them π¦
Our Dippers & Dabblers are fun-loving, strong-swimming, ever-ready little superstars β just stand back when they jump in or youβre getting soaked! π¦π¦π¦

Now the weather is being a little kinder to us, who needs to go abroad when we have fantastic outdoor swimming spots right on our doorstep! ππ¦ π
We have been going to Puddle Ducks for over 6 months now and I could not be happier.
My little one is 1 year old now and loves being in the water.
We started off in Balham Leisure Centre with Pete on Wednesdays which was really fun and we did catch up lessons on Saturdays in Broadwater with Marian. Both places are good, the latter one is better as the changing facilities are simpler and more baby friendly.
We now go on Tuesdays to Broadwater school and our new teacher, Leanne, is also lovely. All three swimming instructors we have had are really good, they pay attention to you and your little one and the groups are a good size.
Happy customers all around and we will definitely continue with them for a few more years.
We have been at puddle ducks since my little boy was 6 weeks old (now 10month) he loves it so much and we have been to two different franchises are both have been super.
Took our 9 week old daughter to her first class today & she loved it! Excellent teachers & nice small class size, would highly recommend this!
Quality teaching with lots of fun, rhymes and splashing for the little ones. We are really happy with the lessons and the results so far - my little one has great water confidence. Thank you
My kids, Aleksander and Kornelia love it, they can't wait to the next lesson :) we are so happy they can learn from the best teachers :) xxx
