Can we all take a moment to admire the stunning Pukka dress Faith, Jennifer and Jess have created from recycled packaging for the Junk Kouture recycled fashion competition 🌈🤩👏
Read the story of their project below:
"Last year I was gifted a flask for Christmas, along with my first box of pukka tea: Three Mint (my fave to this day!) I loved it so much that I decided to try other flavours. Eventually, I had tried at least 20 types and loved them all, especially the packaging, ...and it made me sad to have to throw out the beautiful tea tags. I read that the packaging is made out of recycled paper and vegetable ink, which I thought was really cool, and that reminded me of a special recycling competition the transition year students, who were in the year above me, were doing called Junk Kouture, where students make a piece of fashion out of recycled objects. I decided I would do this competition, using pukka tags. I began to collect them by placing them in an empty pukka box with a slit cut in the top, and soon I had hundreds, using 22 flavours in total. The tags are sewn and stapled into an old bodice. I also collected packets to make a skirt and hat." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can vote for their project here: https://app.junkkouture.com/
