A few pictures from Saturday when we were presented with the West Cumbria Pub of the Year award by CAMRA.

IMPORTANT CHANGE. Due to England’s involvement in the World Cup Quarter Final on Saturday afternoon, the presentation by CAMRA of the Pub of the Year award will now take place at 1.45 with the pub opening at 12.30. We apologise for the short notice of the changes, but it means those wanting to watch the game can join us for a drink beforehand.

We are pleased to announce that CAMRA will be presenting us with the West Cumbria Pub of the Year award this coming Saturday (7th) at 3.00. The pub will open at 2.45 and we would be pleased if you could come and help us celebrate the occasion.

We’ve finalised the line up for our gin night tomorrow. We have 10 top quality gins for you to sample. From England we have Zmurgorium Manchester Marmalade Gin, The Wrecking Coast Cornish Clotted Cream Gin, Warner Edwards Honeybee Gin & Violetta Parma Violet Gin. From Scotland we have Wild Island Botanic Gin & Solway Spirits Rhubarb Crumble Gin. From Ireland we have Glendalough Wild Botanical Gin & Bertha’s Revenge Irish Milk Gin. From Wales we have Dà Mhìle Seaweed Gin and from Japan we have Kyoto Ki No Bi. An interesting selection I’m sure you’ll agree!

A date for your diary. On Saturday 23rd June from 7.00 we’ll be having another Gin Night at The Punch Bowl. We’re going to have 10 speciality gins for you to sample, none of which we’ve offered before. More details to follow.

Such a friendly,welcoming community run pub serving very well kept cask ales and a fantastic selection of gins. A brilliant find on our recent stay in Great Broughton. Plan to return in the not so distant future!!
