Great food. Excellent evening menu . Warm and comfortable rooms. But need a facelift. They are in need of some TLC.

Dinner. A very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings, good food at a reasonable price. An excellent evening.

Stayed at Purdy Lodge on 23 Aug 2017. Dirty, yucky, mouldy! If we hadn't been driving for 8 hours we would have left! To be fair the sheets and towels seemed clean but as for the rest it was disgusting. Mouldy shower like I've never seen before, bathroom in general filthy as we're the walls behind the beds and the carpets. Not impressed with the breakfast. The beds were tiny and really uncomfortable for two people. Knock it down and start again!

We didn't realise that the lodge doubles up as a service station for truckers and the like, but the gentleman who dealt with us couldn't have been more lovely and helpful. The atmosphere was great and the place was absurdly spotless. Great food too, at great prices! Netter hospitality than some of the newer, more upmarket places that we visited during our stay north.

Lovely place to stay, very friendly staffand nothing is too much trouble, food is really nice. Would stay again.

Stayed at Purdys twice in the last year excellent accommodation and restaurants food is excellent nothing is too much trouble location by side of busy At road but does not affect you sleeping

Overpriced crap food. This place was built to try and entice the passing motorist, but all it does is rip people off that'll never return. I've had the misfortune of having to stop there as a lorry driver, but believe me when I tell you this. I bought a quarter pound cheese burger and chips meal, it was the worst I've had in years, you will get better at a roadside burger van. No offer of butter, no vinegar for the chips, no sauce etc, I had to ask for this separate to my meal. All this for £7.49 without a drink.The meat in the burger didn't taste right and my guts was rumbling for ages afterwards. Anyway, after this I had a walk over to the garage shop (through pot holes, mud and puddles) to feel like that I was disturbing the two old women working in there when I bought something (sorry to interup ) I could go on and on, but here's some good advice....STAY AWAY
