Pv Off

About Pv Off

In the event of a fire PV Off can be sprayed on your PV panels. This will then allow firefighters to safely fight fire without the fear of electrocution.

Pv Off Description

PV (Solar Panels) systems produce electrical power during daylight.

Although a building can be electrically isolated from the PV system, the PV array cannot be switched off.

A typical domestic installation with power production of 3. 6 Kw can exhibit voltages between 220-250 volts and current of 6-8 amps, which is sufficient to pose a health hazard to fire service personnel when they attend a fire where PV is installed.

It is this safety concern that is addressed by our product PV OFF.

PV OFF is a spray on coating system that is dispensed onto the PV surface and blackout covers the domestic PV array within 30secs. This PV OFF coating which is also a fire retardant, prevents electrical power generation by blocking off the light to the cells of the PV system.

This neutralization process by PV OFF allows the fire mitigation strategy to proceed within a safe environment.

We have designed the PV OFF coating to be dispensed by either a manual application which provides for a targeted location approach or a motorized delivery system which we are currently developing for larger domestic installations, commercial and industrial applications where voltages can exist of up to 1000 volts with associated current of 50 amps.
