If the original 9R was our chart-topping debut album, then the development of 9R II certainly fulfilled the role of the notorious ‘difficult second album’... http://www.pyranha.com/bl…/whats-new-ab out-the-9r-ii-anyway/
There are two important takeaways from our latest blog post:
1 - We've got a new Limited Edition colour.
2 - Chiles are a fruit!

Still love my Loki, but I'm loving my new 9R! It's so fast and comfortable and rolls like a dream. Not a fan of the gold-plated go pro mount, but a sticker can cover that.
Pyranha has some of the best whitewater hull designs on the market right now. With the 9R firmly rooted as the best widely available fast creeker out, and different sizes of the Machno up-and-coming, Pyranha is one of the best in the biz right now. I can't wait to try the Machno myself! Keep it up guys, your boats rock!
Pyranha 9r is epic, so fast and agile can boof and charge through anything. I find I can catch eddies with ease and maneuver around the river. the outfitting is great I feel secure and tight but comfortable.
My boyfriend jokes that I love my Pyranha Z1 more than him... I tell him it's not true but sometimes I think he has a point.. It's Valentines day and I am currently sat in my bedroom with my Z1, not my boyfriend. A true love lasts a lifetime!
Would definitely recommend the Z1 for anyone who wants to make their time on the water even more fun! :D
My best experiences on the rivers and creeks of Vermont, New York, and Canada have been in the cockpit of a Pyranha. Their innovation and comfort have proven themselves to me time and time again! #pyranhaforlife
My 9R is one special boat but she's not all that happy as she's been stuck in the shed underneath my daughter's river boat. She's going to get some use this weekend though as she'll be getting some BoaterX action in. Pretty much perfect for that and she'll be getting some proper 9rLove. Best boat I've owned. One sweet machine
I've had a whole lot of boats over the years and 3 of my 6 current boats are Pyranha. Everyone is different but some boats just feel right and these work for me. Well made and with outfitting I like even in the older boats. When I break my Burn III I'll be trying on the machno and 9r on some bigger water to see if either might me my new weapon for bigger water :-D
I've always loved Pyranha boats since I first got to use one at a GoPaddle summer camp in 2011. A G3 was the first boat I ever paddled and ever since I sat in it I was instantly hooked onto the brand. I have always found your boats the best and easiest to paddle and I'm am currently trying to save up for a 9R. :)
I'm hooked on running low volume technical creeks, and my Pyranha Nano L feels like it was custom made just for me to paddle that type of water. It is the one boat in my fleet that I can't live without! For a 7'4" kayak it tracks unbelievably good, and the progressive rocker coupled with the high volume bow and stern allow me to boof effortlessly and resurface after a drop before my brain can even process that the boat was submerged. I won't even get started on how amazing the hull design is! I can make my way into eddys that people in other boats can only look at. This boat made my life as a kayaker so much better!
I love my Fusion with the Connect outfitting!
I'm a recreational kayaker (I'll probably never do big whitewater). I use mine for day tripping, lake fishing, and paddling narrow winding, shallow rivers.
I chose my Fusion based on research and excellent customer reviews from independent sites on the net.
I was looking for a 10' boat that could get me into tight areas, that was extremely responsive, made of high quality materials, and wasn't "bathtub" wide. Oh! Being a short boat, it also needed to have a skeg to keep me on course on the flats. My Fusion checks all of those boxes!
My household's boats consist of: My Fusion, a 10' Dagger Axis, and a Perception. Not to knock the other manufacturers, but the Fusion is clearly the best made of the 3 (in all fairness though, it IS the highest priced of the 3)
When the V hull of the Dagger has bottomed out in a shallow river, I can still cruise on past with my flat hull!
Even though my boat fits like a glove, I can still fish the day away in comfort.
I like having the option to paddle more aggressive water if I'd ever want to, and I wouldn't trade my Fusion for anything.
I just came across an old River 280 and have never kayaked before. Its been a week since I first got in it and challenged a nice river dam here in Dallas and had a blast paddling up to it and riding the whitewater out. Can I still get a skirt for it? I sunk it once and a big wave flipped me once , which was of course the highlight of the day.
Have had Fusion, Karnali, Burn III, Machno and Z. One. Every single one of them awesome but stick with Machno. Hopefully you make a new Machno with less stern rocker, that would be the perfect kayak!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fusion WW is my go to boat for flat water, every day. Tracks nice a straight, very quick good volume for stability during resuces. All time favourite cross over!!
In my free time, I'm a b2 man. Feels like it'll go anywhere and out the other side. Good storage capability in the stern and very playful for a white water boat!
For reference my point of view is off of the Shivas. I adore Pyranha boats, I got in and went with the Shiva, I cannot get enough of it. The amount of foam that comes with it to get it outfitted makes it so you shouldn't have any problem getting the fit you want. Can't wait to try out the other pyranha boats I'm missing out on this summer!
#ShivaLove
Both of my boats are Pyranhas. I haven't been paddling for a while now, but I know that when I get back to it, my boats will be as good as ever because they are so well balanced and sturdy, unlike me these days 😉
As soon as I jumped into the 9r I knew I would love it. The boat is of course fast, but it carries that speed through moves you make. It is also a very agile boat, especially for its size. Edge to edge transitions are effortless.

After trying one or two other boats, I happened upon a still covered in plastic Fusion L at the outfitters. They were giving discounts on some demos, and I even got a good price on that one. Best decision I've made yet. I went from paddling flat with friends recreationally, to now watching gauges and looking for the white water. It can do it all. And now I find myself ready to push on to the bigger stuff- and it looks like a Shiva will end up in the shed too.
After a long extensive search my son and I decide to purchase 2 pyranha fusion one L and M with the connect upgrade and we are extremely pleased with the quality and handling of our kayaks. Thank you for making such a great line of kayaks.
Love your hard boats so much even though I'm a commercial paddle jockey! Funny story: As a rookie raft guide a few of us were turkey boating and found one of your Pyranha sponges floating along the Ocoee. We strapped it onto the front of our raft as a figurehead! Unfortunately it only lasted about a quarter of the river but we all had a great chuckle about it. Great times. Thanks for providing high quality products and great times for all.
