Coming to The Quarry Theatre on 11th and 12th March, The Wrong Crowd with the magical 'Kite'.
A lonely girl, recently orphaned, is taken to live in her grandma’s airless flat where the windows are shut tight. Her memories of seagulls, sand dunes and her Mother begin to fade in the silence. One night a handmade kite comes to life and heralds the start of a wild adventure and the chance to find what it seemed was lost forever.
Inspired by the world of indoor-kite flying and sto...ries such as The Snowman and The Red Balloon, Kite is a play without words, with originally composed music, dance, puppetry and of course kites.
From acclaimed theatre company The Wrong Crowd, creators of inventive, playful and compelling new theatre (Swanhunter, Hag, The Girl with the Iron Claws), Kite is for audiences of all ages. A poignant love-song to the wind, freedom and the joy of play.

Gillian Anderson (X-Files, NT Live: A Streetcar Named Desire) and Lily James (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) lead in All About Eve, broadcast live to cinemas from the West End in London. All About Eve tells the story of Margo Channing. Legend. True star of the theatre. The spotlight is hers, always has been. But now there’s Eve. Her biggest fan. Young, beautiful Eve. The golden girl, the girl next door. But you know all about Eve…don’t you…? Lifting the curtain on a world of je...alousy and ambition, this new production, from one of the world's most innovative theatre directors, Ivo van Hove (Network, NT Live: A View from the Bridge), asks why our fascination with celebrity, youth and identity never seems to get old. All About Eve is adapted by Ivo van Hove from the 1950 Twentieth Century Fox film by Joseph L Mankiewicz and the play “The Wisdom of Eve” by Mary Orr. Ivo van Hove directs this new stage version with set and lighting design from Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys and music from double Mercury Prize-winner PJ Harvey, alongside Tom Gibbons’ sound design. Casting is by Julia Horan CDG. Photographs: Gillian Anderson by Pari Dukovic and Lily James by Perou. Design: Bob King Creative.

We’ve come a long way in ten years!

It was our first event of 2019 tonight with NT Live: The Tragedy of King Richard The Second. Many thanks to all those that attended. One wonders if Shakespeare was a prophet rather than a playwright given the events in London tonight! Many thanks for your continued support. X

Went to see "Murder she didn't write" on Saturday afternoon as part of the July Bedfringe. Wasnt sure what to expect as it was an improvisation. It was hilarious, very well acted with the most ridiculous situations. Was impressed that even with an improvisation the cast still managed to steer the audience towards suspecting someone else. Loved the flashbacks too.

Lovely theatre, listened to live music in the garden with a cold drink before the performance for an added bonus.

User

We thought this was an excellent space, stunning acoustics and very friendly staff, seating a little cramped (even for my partner and myself and we're widely regarded as "the compact couple") all in all outstanding!

User

We love the quarry.

Lovely friendly staff, great venue and a broad diversity of reasonably priced shows to suit all tastes.

The kids shows they've put on recently have been absolutely brilliant. Looking forward to going again next weekend :-)

User

The Quarry Theatre is a terrific venue with great staff and excellent shows. It's probably the crown jewel of Bedford. I'm looking forward to a number of future events from the great variety on offer.

Suberb place hosting some great events. Lovely bar and garden area to relax before/after show.

User

Stepping into the quarry is like walking into a venue with magnitude , establishment and welcoming . You really wouldn't think its within a town.... a balance of architectural nostalgia and state of the art technology was well thought out along with a professional team that are not only dedicated to their work but ensure the public are thought upon from reception to theatre .

Within such a short time of this place opening you'd think its been running for years from the programme to its marketing campaign ... What credit that also deserves a big round of applause .

User

Seen shows and performed here, a fantastic venue! The staff are all absolutely lovely, why not get behind live arts, go to see a show and support your local theatre - you'll be pleasantly surprised.
