just done 3 nights here camping with my daughter, stayed here before can't fault the place nor staff, choose this site as only 15min drive to alton towers, as an when we go back to alton towers i will be booking here again, beautiful place, one advise is to watch out for pot holes along sandy lane (i think) road at the bottom of hill where quarry walk is, as had blow out after hitting one,

User

We’ve just come back from a lovely 3 night stay. We had two Badger lodges and they were amazing. Clean and spacious and the hot tubs were fabulous!

The lodges are really close to Alton Towers and offer a great base to chill out after a hectic day at the theme park.

On arrival you are given tea, coffee and milk which is a really nice touch too.

I would 100% revisit.

Great family break away.

User

We just got back from our stay we have loved it .. didn’t want to come home the hot tub is amazing the heating flooring is perfect the log cabin is spacious and so cosy .. we would highly recommend to friends and family we am looking to book back up again we would recommend the raddle inn for food absolutely amazing food and staff so friendly too

User

We have just come back from 4 nights here. (Although we did have the leave on our final night.) We stayed in the fox cub lodge 28. Honestly absolutely loved this place! No Wi-Fi or much signal; in the perfect place; we did lots of exploring! And the hot tub was a bonus at the end of the day! We have been to 6 lodges with hot tubs and can honestly say this one was my favourite! Can't wait to come back. Xx

User

Stayed here for a week, we came for a family holiday with our two children and our little dog. Absolutely loved it, we stayed in a badger lodge. staff were friendly, the lodge and hot tub was fantastic, very private with your own bbq. There’s a great play park for the kids and a lovely little walk into the woods which had lovely views. Loads to do near by, close to Alton towers, a monkey park, country parks and doves dale. The only thing was there is no signal which did not bother us in the slightest, it was a blessing, total family time. I will definitely stay again.

User

Me, my hub and our little dog Norris had an amazing time. Stayed in 37 the owl garden. It was perfect. The lodge is huge and smells lovely as a solid timber lodge. It was wonderful having our own garden to watch the wildlife. Thank you to the lovely staff x

User

Me and my husband stayed in woodpecker log cabin for two nights over the weekend and we had an amazing time. The cabin is fantastic, immaculately clean and lovely and warm with the under floor heating. The hot tub was so nice! It was ready when we got there, was hot the whole weekend ready for us to slip into at anytime and was cleaned and checked every morning. The cabin was secluded and extremely quiet, there's no signal or Wi-Fi but that wasn't a bad thing at all, it was a nice change not to be on our phones. I couldn't recommend staying here enough and we will definately be coming back, next time with the children.

User

Just got back from a 2 night break at quarry walk lodges. We stayed in a woodpecker, lovely and cosy and perfect for the 2 of us. The whole cabin and the setting couldn't have been more perfect. The cabin is kept at a lovely warm temperature so no need for any adjustment! The hot tub was amazing, clean, well maintained and oh so warm! They are checked and cleaned daily, which really shows! We woke up this morning to snow and it looked so magical! The setting is just stunning, so peaceful, like you can't hear anything! Each lodge is very private? They manage to keep the outside areas very private. Our hot tub was sunken and had a fence so we could still sit and enjoy the views around us but still had privacy. Couldn't recommend this place enough - can't wait to book again!

User

Just came back from a girls weekend away. Was really impressed with the quality of the cabin and the service too, staff were very friendly and helpful. A lovely quiet break just to get away from city life. Will definitely be booking again next year.

User

Came to stay in the badger plus lodge after 3 nights and 4 days at CBeebies land hotel and Alton towers. Me, my husband and three year old Daughter were absolutely shattered!! 1st thing we did was jump straight in to the hot tub absolutely heaven!! Log cabin was absolutely fantastic clean, staff friendly Perfext relaxation. Loved that they had a little park just a way up the track perfect could not fault. Would defo be comobg back would recommend 100%

User

Absolutely beautiful place to relax and unwind could not recommend enough for people to try..... trust me you will not be disappointed

Wish I could go back and take my kids they would love it

This was our 3rd year at Quarry Walks for New Year for a week. This year we stayed in FOX 21 and it was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and nice and warm. Spacious. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble.

all lodges lack hooks for coats especially useful in winter time.

Roads /paths on site were even worse this year with huge water filled pot holes and park could be better lit. Paths/roads need sorting because its a lovely place.

As jacqui Goldston said our dad had a nasty fall on the slippy deck at her lodge and his knee is still not right.

Our hot tub had no lid lifter either.

we will return to Quarry Walks at some time. 4/5

User

Just back from a 3 night stay in Owl 38. Couldn’t have asked for a better positioned cabin, right at the end of the road. It was clean, well equipped and very cosy on arrival. The heating however didn’t seem to work properly after the first night and meant it didn’t get above 18 degrees for the rest of the stay.

The hot tub was clean and we were shown how to use not long after we arrived. It seemed temperamental however, and we were only able to use it in the evenings for a short period of time as the heat varied (in the morning it was 30 and at lunchtime only 33). This meant it couldn’t be used as much as it should have been, which was unfortunate as this was the main reason we chose Quarry Walks.

User

A very peaceful site. Would visit again.

ARRIVAL

4/5

We arrived just after 4pm, popped into reception and picked up the lodge and barrier keys. The layout of the site was explained and we were reminded that there would be no electric on site from 8am on the day we left. We were aware of this prior so no concerns. Only lost 1 star as a £10.00 refundable deposit is needed for remotes - I'm paying hundreds to visit the site, I don't plan on stealing a TV remote.

ACCOMMODATION

5/5

25 Fox Plus Lodge was perfect. There was only two of us and the dog, but the lodge had a bathroom and a shower room, along with three bedrooms to sleep six. Very good lodge. Large kitchen/diner with the usual appliances, including a Tassimo coffee machine. Tea/coffee/milk on arrival and two dishwasher tablets. Kitchen included a large fridge, a large freezer, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. Living room with freeview and a DVD player. Two bedrooms with two singles in each. Walk in wardrobes in both. Bathroom with overhead shower (the better shower of the two) and toilet. Main bedroom with double bed and en-suite. En-suite also had a shower. All rooms had a TV with Freeview. Lots of cupboard and drawer space in all rooms. The decked hot tub area was very private. I imagine in Summer it would be more private when there are leaves on the trees. Bath robes provided. Just outside the decked area there was also a BBQ and large wheely bin.

CLEANLINESS

Overall - 3/5

The accommodation was very clean, but bathrooms were slightly hairy, with extractors needing a good dust. Nothing major, but when paying the big bucks the small details are important.

THE SITE

4/5

A fair sized site with about a good amount of lodges, tent area, caravan area and a large woodland to walk through. Cheadle is only a 5 minute drive away where there is a small Asda. There is also a small play park for kids.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

5/5

Couldn't fault the two people we dealt with. The lady who checked us in/out was lovely. The gent who came and explained the hot tub was also very friendly and knowledgeable.

User

We spent New Year here for a week, this is our 3rd year ! We love the lodge we stay in (Badger 36) it’s big, tucked away in the corner and ideal for us with a dog. Our break didn’t get off to the best start as our dog had to be hospitalised for a major operation so we travelled without him finally joined us 4 days in.... we would have booked again but felt standards had slipped unfortunately: there was no lifter on hot tub which makes it virtually impossible for one person to uncover and re cover after use! The decking outside was slippy due to build up of moss, my dad had a nasty fall on the steps! The paths around the site desperately need doing - can be very dangerous and to be honest not pleasant on the eye, It was very water logged due to weather! The lodge itself is ok, beds very comfy, good kitchen etc but we just felt overall the whole park just needs some TLC and maintenance

User

Stayed in the timber tent for 4. Great location for alton towers and value for money. However that is where it stops.

Toilets appeared to have been "cleaned" during our 4 night stay as wet floor sign up... But 2/4 toilets were not replenished with toilet roll and the same spiders (and a lot of them) in the same places the entire stay. We would have thought the toilets would have been a daily job but clearly not.

Doors left open for the cast of bugs life to get comfortable, just in time for your shower. Bins were also not emptied during our stay. A good proper clean and some common sense would fix these problems.

The timber tent was great value for money however the kettle had a film on the water so we could only imagine how long the water had been there. My daughter described the timber tent itself as "an adventure in a haunted cabin in the woods". Thankfully she doesn't mind a few beasties and we understand that in the outdoors this cannot be avoided. However, it was obvious the cobwebs and dead spiders had been there for some time.

It was clear that anyone staying In tents or timber tents are not the priority as that is not where the site makes their money. Easy resolved but due to the "OK" reply I received and not an apology upon departure I doubt anything will be done.

Overall, a few problems let the site down.

User

Just got back from a 3 night stay. Lodge 43. We absolutely love the setting, the whole area, walks etc were stunning. The lodge was lovely and well equipped. Staff great. Only 3* for cleanliness. I arrived on my birthday and spent the first hour mopping the floor with bleach which came out with black water before we barely entered... a dirty mop in the bathroom and months of mould around the windows and as we looked up in bed also mould. We will return but to a newer lodge. This needs addressing. Our usual lodge is henlle hall or penvale lakes or lower fishpools. All worthy of several stars!

User

**3 1/2 stars **Just got back from spending Christmas here and on first impressions alone it would have had 5 stars as it really did have the wow factor. Beautifully presented and kitchen was so well equipped. Unfortunately for us though the boiler broke and we had no hot water for 3 days. James came round regularly (including Xmas day) to try and fix it but it was boxing day before we actually got hot water. I also felt it could have been a bit cleaner, there were some areas that were thick with dust. Overall though we had a lovely chilled out week and the hot tub was great! I would like to stay again in the hope that next time we have no problems as it really is a beautiful place :)
