About Quarrybankcommunitygardens

Quarry Bank Community Gardens are open to the public. This local community garden offers a wide range of activities and volunteer opportunities. The aim of the project is to improve community engagement through horticulture, food growing, wildlife, education and arts. The community garden works with multiple agencies from local mental health services, drug and alcohol services, community payback, school and other voluntary groups.
Within the gardens there has been an auditorium area that has been developed by local volunteers, providing a facility for organisations or community groups to access for events, plays, bands, speakers etc.
There are also further plans for a development project known as 'men's shed' this is available for both men and women. The project will enable individuals to develop personal skills, work part of a team and to share and learn new skills. The project will allow people to develop skills in woodwork, carving, furniture renovation, metal work, bike maintenance, tool maintenance and electronics.
