Great night out for the family
It's one of the highlights of the Oldham calendar. And this year, Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon will be pulling the first pint at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as the popular Oldham Beer & Cider Festival rolls into town for two days.
Run to support the Mayor of Oldham's charity appeal fund, the festival is now in its 31st year. The Mayors of Oldham's charity appeal fund currently supports Dr. Kershaw's Hospice, Action Oldham, MIND, St Thomas's Church Werneth and Maggies Oldham amon...gst others.
This year, there's a definite Scottish flavour to the event. Some of the best ales from as far north as Perth will be tapped and ready for lucky drinkers as 13 Scottish breweries showcase their beers. But they will be matched with 11 of the best local brewers including Brewsmith, Deeply Vale, Donkeystone and Pictish. There'll be Northern cider as well as the best of the traditional producing regions. And a carefully curated selection of foreign beers will complete the lineup.
There's a special treat in store for real ale fans. Bar manager Michelle Riley has brewed a unique beer with Moorhouses of Burnley which will only be available at the festival. It's promised to be a dark beer but organisers are tight-lipped about the recipe. The festival is noted for serenading drinkers with a top local brass band.
This year Dobcross Band will provide the Friday evening entertainment. And when the munchies strike, festival goers can enjoy top-class catering from the Quirky Catering Company. Clint Boon said: "It's one of the more unusual gigs I'm doing, but I was chuffed to be asked. As a proud Oldhamer, it’s always nice to be able to help local charities. There’s a whole bunch of lovely volunteers who help put this event on, and as well as having a great time, drinkers will be helping raise much needed funds for those charities. I'll be there on the Friday to pull the first pint. See you there Boon Army!” 5th and Saturday 6th April.

"Life is breathing as Music through each of us. While trusting our Breath, we trust Life to sing that very song, which is the reason why all of us exist”. Estas Tonne
Sound with its different acoustic frequency and vibrational level has a tremendous effect on all living matter, while structurally changing and qualitatively transforming it. The fact is that absolutely everything in the Universe, even "Silence", has its own "Voice". Its development and expansion represent a tru...e Music of Life. In such a perception the Breath of Life reveals Itself as the Breath of Sound.
This name is chosen for Estas Tonne International Concert Tour-2018 as a reminder to observe the phenomenon of breath while listening.

Simply the best Bowie sounds you will hear performed by the worlds finest Bowie band. “A night of breathtaking Bowie brilliance, forget anything you've seen before” “Bowie Starman is simply on another level"
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues when the highly-charged show Starman comes to town. Packed with songs from all eras of Bowie’s celebrated career from Rebel Rebel and China Girl to Let’s Dance, Young Americans, Ashes To Ashes and Life On Mars.
... Performed by 'Blackstar' the world's finest Bowie band “David’s musical legacy could not be in safer hands”
“STARMAN are so much more than a mere tribute act who ‘look and sound a bit like the original band’. The first time I saw and heard them play was a real shivers-down-the-backbone moment. I witnessed the real thing around the world, many times: it couldn’t be, could it? Superlative musicianship, skilled interpretation and irresistible exuberance guarantee the closest possible alternative to a genuine Bowie gig. Honouring his distinctive sound and unique presentation, STARMAN perform their hero’s best-loved songs with wit, respect and tongue-in-cheek. David would have loved them” Lesley-Ann Jones 2017, author ‘HERO: David Bowie’ This show has been re-scheduled please contact your ticket provider before 5/1/18 for refunds

The Brass Band were Exellent🎺🎷🎹
Went to a large presentation was a bit of wait at the bar but staff was nice and friendly.
Was here at an elvis tribute event there was not sufficient toilets for the capacity of the venue.
It was ok
The place could do with a little updating
could do with an update. venue looks very poor and tacky compared to other venues around oldham, this could be a very nice space if some money was spent on it.
Was very disappointed with the queen Elizabeth hall, had to sit with out a drink for the first half of the show as the bar only opened at the interval which made the whole experience a let down. And then once the bar did open they only served lager or coke and ran out of water. And it was a mad rush to get to the bar.
