Historic coaching house with really pleasant & very helpfull staff, always smiling & making sure everything is ok. Food is exceptional, we arrived as the new menu was put into use and we were not dissapointed with anything. Room was perfect, what more can I add apart from we will be going back again and again.
We just stopped here for a drink in the afternoon. I must say the barman is a real asset to the place - very friendly and welcoming and made friends with our dogs. We will definitely be going back here on our next trip to the lakes to sample the food. Oh yes: the beer was excellent too!
Lovely place to stay. Food and beer good, staff make you feel welcome. Rooms comfortable. Hotel in centre of Hawkshead , well positioned for exploring the lakes.
Excellent place to stay. Helpful and friendly staff, especially Jack - pity he is a Leeds Utd supporter (only kidding). Lovely little village, highly recommended.
...absolutely amazing! Freshly made GLUTEN FREE pizza the Wife's actual words "Best pizza I have ever eaten since I was diagnosed..." My Pizza was amazing too everything was fresh and it tasted superb. The customer service was the best we have seen in a long time, we were greeted politely by several staff. We were told what was available on the day and what had run out(only 1 thing). The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed even though the place was full. Most other places when full feel cramped and claustrophobic but this was different it just felt warm and inviting and had such a relaxing feel to it. Price was excellent for the quality of service and food. Overall this little pub made our day in such a beautiful little village it's a place you must visit if you are in the lake district.
Nice atmosphere but very crowded. Arrive early if you are looking to order dinner.
A nice pub. Limited range of beers, mostly pale ales. Was a pleasant sun trap on one of the tables outside.
Overall, the food and service were very good. We were a large party with multiple children ranging from 2 to 11 however it wasn't a problem and we were welcomed to a large table which was reserved for 2 hours later, so we were told we would need to be done by then. It's table service and were weren't rushed. Everything was tidy and clean. Sadly when the food came one of the meals was under one and even worse had a large shard of plastic in amongst the veg. The service staff were quite apologetic offering to replace the meal and ensure it was a bit more well done as well. They even offered a free drink. The portions were small but certainly adequate and very tasty, if not slightly over seasoned. Some of the group would not return, however, I understand mistakes were made but would still recommend it.
Perfect in every way. Room fantastic, staff attentive and very friendly. Breakfast amazing. Food was sublime. We will be back
