We only stayed for one night but definitely will be back. We were upgraded to a fabulous room with an enormous, comfortable bed. The bathroom was brilliant with both a bath and shower. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast choice was great. 5/5 for us.

We had a great stay here at the beginning of Half Term. We have visited Hawkshead many a time but it was the first time we stayed at the Queens Head. It was lovely! Our room was at the back of the establishment and we had our own access. It was a ground floor one bedroom and bathroom converted cottage - this was perfect for us with our dog. The bed was comfortable and a good size and the bathroom was modern and had both a bath and shower with fresh soft towels and toiletries on hand. Tea and coffee making facilities were available to you and if you required an iron all you need do is ask. There is also a hair dryer stashed in one of the drawers in each room.

The staff here though are the ones that make this place special. After visiting the Queens Head to eat on numerous occasions (the food is fab too) we have got to know some of the staff and we always arrive to a warm welcome and friendly banter. They are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Looking forward to coming back in the new year!

User

We come here every couple of years and always stay at the Queen’s Head. Due to half term, this year we couldn’t get a room and stayed at The Sun Inn (which was very nice), but we did have dinner at The Queen’s Head. I had breaded cod cheeks, pan seared duck breast and a cheeseboard. All courses were excellent. The beer selection was also tasty. I highly recommend this place when in Hawkshead.

User

We called at The Queens Head by chance when in the Lake District. Although it was busy the staff found us a table really quickly and were very accommodating to our dog , giving her treats while we waited . The staff are lovely and the pub has a really warm and friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend it .

User

Staying in Hawks head with son, daughter in law and baby granddaughter. Tried to book dinner in Hawkshead but everywhere was booked up. The Queen's Head were fantastically helpful and we had a beautiful meal for 4. Plus baby in pram. The staff were marvellous and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend.

User

Stayed here last year in the adjoining room outside brilliant great staff good place watched England game last night there top place

User

My husband booked us a table for pizza and prosecco night whilst we were celebrating our mini-moon in Hawkshead. We had a fabulous night from start to finish, the food and staff were fabulous, especially Peter who made sure we were looked after from start to finish. We had an absolutely wonderful night.

User

Me and my girlfriend visited here on the recommendation of the owners of the cottage we were staying in.

Safe to say it did not disappoint, upon arrival even though they were very busy we were promptly seated and served. I asked the waitress what beers they had and she proceeded to reel off all the beers they had behind the bar and what they were like!

The food came quickly and was incredible. Throughout the night the service was perfect. Super knowledgeable and attentive staff.

It isn't cheap but you get what you pay for. It was so good we went back a couple of night later and received exactly the same high level of service.

There's a great atmosphere, even when it's busy even though it's a small pub you don't feel squeezed in.

Would definitely recommend if you're in the Lakes!

User

Just called in for a spot of lunch and we were bowled over by how good it was. We ordered the fish finger ciabatta and the rump steak & blue cheese ciabatta, plus a side of chunky chips and every element of both dishes were delicious. So good in fact that we’re going to look at staying there at some point. Absolutely loved it xx

User

It is a beautiful place, with excellent food and service. Thank you for everything!

User

I had Sea Bream and the wife had fish & chips.

Both meals were excellent in taste and value for money, which surprised me as I have now paid £1.20 for a packet of crisps (31.8gm) at the same place.

I’ll stick to the menu in future and ignore the usual snacks.

Forgot to say the staff and service were excellent.

User

Food was hot and delicious. Staff bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. Plus we could take the dog in.

User

Fantastic little Inn in Hawkshead, wonderful room (No3) extremely cosy and luxurious and the food is wonderful. Spent two nights here which included Sunday in style, and the breakfasts, Sunday lunch and evening meals are all great standard, well worth it. We will certainly return and recommend to our friends and family. Staff at the Inn are all very friendly and polite also, we’ve really enjoyed our stay.

User

Fantastic food. Great staff. Good beer. Very well run and enjoyable place to eat!

User

Fabulous little inn right in the middle of Hawkeshead. Rooms really lovely and tastefully furnished. Luxury coffee, tea and hot chocolate in rooms also bottled spring water which was a nice touch. Breakfast was exceptional with even prosecco on the buffet At no extra charge. Hot cooked breakfast was to order and to die for. I would highly recommend staying here it’s quite simply lovely

User

Although the place was packed with folks Drinking & Eating, we ordered both and the service was fast and efficient, the Food was superb, the Steak & Ale Pie, I was told by the young fair haired Bar Man, was made fresh not 3 hours earlier, and Boy’O’Boy it was blooming Delicious my Hisband has the Burger ( he’s an expert on such delicacies!) was equally one of the best he’s ever had.

Well done Everyone at the Queens Head. 10/10

User

24 of us turned up (daughters hen party) in the afternoon. We had the beer garden to ourselves and it was lovely. Didn't think the bar staff would be able to cope with us all but they were excellent. Highly recommend!

User
