Queens Head Troutbeck

Had a fantastic family Sunday lunch here and was not disappointed. Friendly staff and and food delicious. Will definitely return.

The staff at the queens head were amazing, made you feel right at home with there kind courteous manners... the fools was devine and reasonably well priced. The area in which the hotel is placed is just beautiful and a great day out. The rooms were amazing such a modern but classy venue.

Great food, great service and a great price. Went for lunch. Opted for the three bar snacks option, triple cooked chips with garlic mayonnaise, fish goujons with a curry mayonnaise and cocktail sausages. All for £10! Could easily have been shared between 2 people. Very tasty. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely to see the pub reopened after the tragic fire. Food was excellent and great value. The did gluten free for my son, they are dog friendly and the staff really helpful. However you'd be advised to book before arriving.

Wonderful pub hotel with lovely comfortable rooms, great breakfast and really helpful friendly staff. We were desperately in need of somewhere to stay whilst in the Lake District and fortunately The Queens Head had a spare room.

Very dog friendly and dogs are even allowed in the bar area. We didn't get the chance to have an evening meal but if the rest of our stay is anything to go by I don't think we would have been disappointed.

I would highly recommend this pub for families, dog walkers and business trips. I stay in around 100 hotels each year and this one would definitely be in my top 10.

We visited the Queens head as a group of 6 people last night. The food was excellent "pub grub". The staff (service) were superb and really helpful. All in all, the evening was very enjoyable, and really good value for money. The refurbishment leaves the interior looking better than ever. I will definitely be going back!

Great pub. Recently refurbished with a really cosy interior. Food was lovely and a good range of drinks, including a selection of interesting gins. Had a look at the rooms too which were beautifully decorated and full of character. Would be perfect for a romantic break.

Recently reopened. Not what it used to be. Been coming here for 11 years and could always count on a warm reception and a high quality gastro pub meal, even when the pub was incredibly busy. It's been beautifully redecorated, but service is wanting. Appreciate a new team is bedding down, but front of house needs heavy improvement- greeting was rude and very unhelpful as we were told abruptly and with a hint of a sneer at 6:30pm (in an empty bar and near empty restaurant with an 18 month in tow) that they couldn't accommodate us as the kitchen wouldn't be able to cope! When we did manage to get a table on another evening, the food took just under 2 hours to arrive. Waiter was apologetic and served a free round of drinks by way of apology, but food was distinctly poor to average (curry was side vegetables served in coconut milk) and a 2 hour wait for food with three children under 7 makes for a stressful rather than an enjoyable evening out. Would revisit with reluctance. Very disappointing as it used to be our go-to pub.

Recently re-opened, really nice inside and the food was good. Ate here twice, had one really good service and the other we were left waiting for for ages but dealt with the problem in the end. Can take a while at the bar when it is busy. Really need to work on front of house but given 4 stars for benefit of the doubt as assume it is a new team bedding in.
