We had a wonderful time as a family at this years panto! The live music was amazing as was the singing! Two boys ages 10 and 5 has a great time and loved all the dancing as did my 83 year old grandad, I loved that they used songs known to everyone so we could all sing along. Yes it was different to Disney’s beauty and the beast but all the characters and songs are copyrighted by Disney so it’s actually illegal for them to use them. If you want to see a Disney production you’d pay more than twice as much. Panto isn’t Disney it’s slapstick comedy and singing and that exactly what we got!

Priscilla Queen of the Desert 👍❤️Just loved it, you must see it for yourself, top entertainment from start to finish, guaranteed toe tapping and clapping ! Such a feel good show, thank you x

My family and I absolutely loved the panto, our group was aged 8 to 87 and we were all mesmerised by the sheer talent & creativity. We all considered it one of the best we'd ever seen and loved the fact that it was original and not the 'same old, same old'.

We didn't know what to expect but given that every other panto is an adaption of the original, we wasn't expecting a recreation of the Disney film like others.

The voices & musical talent of each individual was impressive. Thank you for helping us to create a lasting memory of a wonderful evening.

Just watched Priscilla Queen of the Desert, what a fantastic show, from start to finish just brilliant. The only thing that let the theatre down was the ladies toilets, you need to check that there is enough toilet paper befor you open.

Just come back from watching Beauty and the Beast at Queen's! Ok, so was initially expecting your typical "panto" set up! (Oh no you weren't!) Granted, due to copyright you would never have been able to use Disney characters or story as it was, but was stunned (in a fabulous way) by the set up, style and general atmosphere of show. You had the basic story, but made it your own. How talented were your cast?! Seriously?! So brilliant! My kids are 5 and 7 and they knew all the songs and we're (very loudly) singing along. In-laws and parents came as well, so age range of party was 5 - 71. And we absolutely loved it! What a panto with a difference! Spectacularly and splendidly awesome! 5*

I'm yet to visit the theatre, but I had such a fantastic experience with the box office that I had to quickly review. I accidentally selected the wrong time for the Gruffalos Child in August. I sent them an email immediately asking to change the time. I didn't get a reply, so was a little worried they hadn't seen my mail, but the next day I received my tickets in the post with the new time! Compared to other box offices this was the easiest transaction I have ever experienced. Thank you x

I went to see the pantomime Beauty & the beast last night with family, age range from 60+ down to 5.

We all had a great time, the kids enjoyed it and each had a different favourite bit.

The cast I thought were amazing and I found it extra good as cast also played their own instruments etc throughout the performance which you very rarely see in productions.

Talented performers who brought a production to life.

Have been going to panto at queens for the last 20 years, they have always been brilliant but this year they have outdone themselves!! Absolutely fantastic production of beauty & the beast music was fantastic and had us all up dancing and singing. Thank you and well done to all xx

Had another visit to see Witney Queen Of The Night last night at The Queen's. This is the best venue there is in my opion to bring disabled visitors as they get the best seat in the house with no viewing restrictions unlike other venues. Mum and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We ate at the theatre the first time last night and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend.

Forever in Blue Jeans is an absolutely brilliant show. Carole, Rachel and Gary perform all the songs so well and are backed by an excellent band. The energy of the show is amazing, they cover so many different songs and how they do so many wardrobe changes is mind boggling. This show really has the feel good factor. Their other show, Voice of the Heart, is also well worth seeing where Carole sings the Carpenters songs and she covers them so well. If you haven't seen them then you should!

I like this theatre and always go to the panto with my grand-children as well as various shoes throughout the year with friends. As it's smaller than some theatres there is always a good atmosphere. We went to the panto this afternoon (I'm grandad Steve) and we really enjoyed it. I can fully understand other people's perspective that it was loosely based on BATB but that is the nature of panto's. As for the cast, I thought they were amazing this year. The quality of the acting and singing was exceptional. We tried to book for next year but not taking bookings at the moment. Well done to the cast and crew and thanks for an enjoyable and entertaining afternoon.

Lack of Highchairs! I love coming to Queens Theatre with my baby to regularly see the NCT Breastfeeding group, our Baby Senosry class and to meet up with other Mums and their babies. But I keep getting really frustrated with the fact there are only 2 high chairs! On days like a Tuesday for example, where the Theatre is full of babies and Mums, I like to come along before my class to feed my baby and grab myself lunch and a cup of tea, as I am sure a lot of Mums do. But I will have to think twice about eating at the Theatre now. It’s a real shame Queens. Please think about purchasing some more ikea £15 high chairs!

We went to see Rope last night and were very disappointed. There was no plot, no motive for the murder and other than the 3 main characters the rest of the cast had no purpose at all. The main actor had done a fabulous job learning his very extensive and complicated lines but sadly we found the whole play pretty pointless. Very unusual for Queen’s theatre - we have never been disappointed before. All the staff were great as usual - jus a shame the play was so bad!

The only reason I have given this production of Beauty and the Beast two stars and not one is because the performers were very good and if you wanted to go to a pop concert you would have enjoyed this. However, if you were expecting a pantomime of the standard of previous years, you would have been seriously disappointed. This was nothing remotely similar to Beauty and the Beast, dreary costumes, drab sets and a beast who couldn't have been less scary. The whole thing was such a disappointment after seeing years of excellent pantomimes and expecting the same this year. It seemed as though it was done on a very cheap budget - we have never minded how much we have paid for our seats as felt it was worth every penny but this year it was a complete waste of money and I doubt we will be visiting the Queen's pantomime again unless they bring back the old format rather than using a small group of entertainers who, although being very talented singers and musicians, were certainly not pantomime material.

Saw this production tonight and have to say it was the worst pantomime I’ve ever seen. If it was sold as a rock concert then it would have been great but it was certainly nothing like a panto. We’ve been coming here for many, many years and always loved them but this years was very disappointing. The scenery and the costumes all looked liked they’d been done on a budget whereas normally they are amazing, it wasn’t funny and even the dame wasn’t funny this year, the actors had great voices and I do happen to like that sort of music but it’s not what I want in a pantomime. As for the story, for those people saying they’re not allowed to use that story/characters - then they’d have been better off doing something else, although every other year they manage to get Snow White, Cinderella etc more or less the same as the book/film. At least they’re recognisable as the story they’re telling unlike this rubbish tonight. It seemed to me that they’re doing a new format but if it’s going to be like that every year we won’t be going back.

User

So sorry to have to agree with the others who have come away disappointed with this year’s panto Beauty and the Beast. Family came to us this year as we have been coming to panto here for 8 years and it was so sad to see my 2 cousins with their Belle dolls, and Belle not in it, not one song but all other songs (every few minutes) that they would not know! Other girls were dressed as Belle, there just wasn’t any flow to the story it was more like a show of pop songs. The singing was amazing and the actors as always really good and the playing of musical instruments also fab. But the set up of it this year was so different to years before. I love Queens theatre and visit regularly, already having booked for 2 shows in 2018 but have come away this evening lacking the usual panto spirit that I’ve had years before.

I have been coming here since I was a child and have just tried to book some tickets for a surprise birthday treat....the member of staff I spoke to was extremely rude and unhelpful! I want to buy 2 tickets and apparently that will leave a solitary seat when I explained I don't want 3 tickets I was Rudely told well either take the back row or consider it sold out!! I find the level of customer services has gone downhill and I do not expect to be spoken to like this! Very unhappy!!!

User

Hugely disappointed with ‘Beauty and the Beast’ the cast where brilliant at what they done, but the Pantomime was not what was advertised. The characters did not relate to Beauty & the Beast, there was nothing original from the film ie chip, miss Potts. My 5 year old daughter was so looking forward to seeing Belle and got 2 minutes of a girl by a different name in a yellow dress. After watching Cinderella last Xmas and room on the broom this year, we was so excited about seeing this, and are hugely disappointed at what we have just watched. Far to many songs with no relation to the film, what children wouldn’t no either, Madonna, meat loaf?? I certainly won’t be in any rush to book tickets for next Xmas, and will now try somewhere else!!

User

Beauty and the beast was what we paid to go and see and all we saw was a load of songs that had nothing to do with the film! Nothing against the cast they are amazing at what they do but this was very poor. There wasn’t a child in the theatre that was interested in the production, supposed to be all for the kids aswell! Had a very disappointed 5 year old that she couldn’t see Belle in her trademark dress! Can’t imagine she was the only one either, some little ones even dressed up like belle! Cinderella was very good last year, but this year we are somewhat disappointed! Won’t be coming back next year!!!
