Queenscourt Hospice

About Queenscourt Hospice

Queenscourt Hospice is an independent charity committed to helping patients, and their families, to live with their illness, at whatever stage, and doing our best to improve their quality of life, either at home or in the hospice.

Queenscourt Hospice Description

The services we provide at Queenscourt Hospice are all free to those who need them. To continue to provide these services we need to raise over £2 million pounds each year - this is only made possible by the kindness and generosity of the people who support our work.

If you are interested in supporting the work of Queenscourt there are many different ways in which you can become involved. These include joining our weekly lottery, organising your own fundraising event or supporting an event organised by the hospice, becoming a regular donor, donating unwanted clothes, bric a brac or furniture to our charity shops or volunteering to help with store collections and events or in one of our charity shops.

A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who helps us in any way, big or small. We can’t do it without you.

If you are interested in becoming involved then please contact the fundraising team on fundraising@queenscourt.org. uk.

We have a couple who are getting married today and are giving all their guests wedding favours in the form of Queenscourt lottery tickets. 👰💐🎊
Rachael said they wanted to give back to Queenscourt in memory of her Grandad Michael Finnan, who attended Queenscourt every Tuesday and called it his ‘Youth Club’! All the staff were so lovely to him and his Tuesday visits really kept him going. He raved about the food and activities that were on offer to him.
We would like to offer ...our congratulations to Rachael and Mark and thank them for supporting Queenscourt Hospice in this way. Good luck and we look forward to seeing the pictures of your big day.
We would also like to wish their guest's good luck and hope that one of them wins something in this week’s lottery draw. 🍀
The wedding details are as follows:
Groom: Mark Cranshaw Bride: Rachael Little
Wedding Date: Friday 24th August 2018 Time: 14:30
Ceremony and whole wedding day: The Everyman Theatre, Liverpool
Again, good luck and congratulations from all at Queenscourt. 💜💚

A wonderful £516.00 was raised for Queenscourt at a Make a Cuppa Count event held in memory of Dave Abbott, on what would have been his birthday. All Dave’s colleagues in the haematology department at the Royal Liverpool hospital supported the event. Pictured here are his family who attended to help. His wife Rachael Abbott, mum Elaine Abbott and Emma Anstey.

Enjoy a free music concert this bank holiday August. On Monday 27th August take a wander to the Lord Street Bandstand in Southport for a fantastic day of live music!
We are lucky enough to have the support of Jules Dutch, who every year gathers his fellow musicians for this great event. The wonderful local bands are very kindly giving their time and talent free of charge, in return for donations in the collection buckets on the day.
Every penny raised will make a wonderful difference and help Queenscourt Hospice provide care and support to local patients and their loved ones. So pop along and enjoy the bank holiday with us!

💜 Volunteers Needed 💚
We are appealing to anyone who can help out with public collections in the Southport area, during September. We have quite a lot of events on and are really low on volunteers to help out. Shifts are varied and at different locations, usually for a maximum of 2 hours.
So, if you, or anyone you know, are interested please email the Fundraising Team: fundraising@queenscourt.org.uk
.. . Small change makes a ✨ BIG ✨ difference, and every donation, no matter how small, contributes towards maintaining our service of care, which is incredibly important to so many people.
Thank you 💜💚

Wonderful from the moment my dad arrived. I can't put into words how grateful I am for the way you cared for him in his last days. I stayed with him constantly and I was never made to feel as though I was in the way, even though I almost certainly was! We were treated amazingly by every single member of staff and volunteer and every single person is a credit to the outstanding work that is carried out there. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart

User

What an amazing place queenscourt is they looked after my dad 100 percent from the nurses to the doctors the cook the volunteers all the staff thank you so much for giving dad a comfortable and settled last few days of his life and the support you gave me thank you from the bottom of my heart xxxx

User

There is a special place in my heart for all the wonderful staff who are looking after me. This is the third time in my adult life that I have to face cancer. last time my wife and I had to face it alone but this time I have the staff in queenscourt helping me to kick it's butt, We no longer feel alone in our fight to stay alive and that's so reassuring. For one day a week I can take my "brave mask" off and find peace. My favourite care workers are Shelagh who is the most creative person I know and Helen whos love and compassion lights up the darkest of days in my life. the care and support they give me each week is awesome and I so look forward to my Thursday. I thank each and every member of staff and my love goes out to all of you. Peace, love and empathy xxx

User

There are not enough adjectives to describe how excellent the care and compassion my mum Norma received during her time here. The warmth and dedication was out of this world. The total inclusion every step of the way helped me feel relaxed during this very difficult time. This place is the epitome of how a healthcare institution should be xxx

User

The staff of volunteers and trained professionals worked tirelessly and compassionately to ensure that my father Bernard got the best possible care up to the day we had to say goodbye. So thankyou so very very much for helping not only my father; but to his wife and family get through this sad time.

We will never forget any of you..

Fondest wishes.

Denise Nicholson xx

User

Thanks to Queenscourt my Deb was able to pass over peacefully and with grace and dignity. She died at 06:01 am on April 14th 2018 and her birthday was ... 06:01:61.

User

Queenscourt is an amazing place. We couldn't have managed without the help from the daytime and night time queenscourt at home staff. My dave was cared for, for about 6 months, he also went to the daycare centre which he enjoyed very much especially the meals and his glass of baileys there was nothing they didn't do for him. I lost him only recently but still get support from palliative care. They are all wonderful the staff and the volunteers. So thankyou for looking after us both. God bless xx

User

Queenscourt Hospice is amazing. From the moment mum was admitted to the time she passed away peacefully at the hospice nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the hospice. They truly are a wonderful bunch of people. Mum's care was second to none and the support our family also received was outstanding and greatly appreciated. Knowing and seeing that mum was being so well cared for certainly eased our family's pain and we cannot thank them enough.

User

Queenscourt Hospice also offers valuable support for those who want to stay at home for their final weeks/ days. This support extends to the whole family. They are practical, compassionate... They care. I can't thank them enough for the help, advice, time to talk things through and a shoulder to cry on when needed given to me and my mum in her final weeks. Thank you

User

My sister and I can't thank you enough, for all the amazing care you gave to my mum. You are all truly exceptional at what you do. It's just a shame they give at awards to meaningless celebrities, when it is you who are the true heroes of society. I love you all dearly x Nick x
