It's been almost exactly a year since we welcomed Veludo Planes to the Racket stage. We're even more stoked to have them back on Friday night!

Sadly Only Shadows and James Gillespie won't be joining us on Friday night at 93 Feet East. The incredible Slowlights jump in instead! Here's their new one.

Racket is kicking May off with one of it's best lines up to date!
Gracing the stage will be our selection of Indie / Acoustic / Alternative acts from all over the country. Think of it as a heads up as to who to keep an eye on throughout 2015.
93 Feet East // £5 OTD // 7:30pm entry
... ONLY SHADOWS - www.soundcloud.com/only-shadows
Only Shadows - "One of the brightest hopes for UK guitar music" amazing radio. New track 'Our Sands' out now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM9j4kAwj _w
THE MONDAY PROJECT - http://www.themondayprojectuk.co.uk/
The duo formed in 2013 and is based in London. Originally a trio, it was the drummer Luka that suggested they try the duo format that seems to be semi-popular in the recent past. With the success of The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Local H, and even the recent success of fellow countrymen Royal Blood, the format proves that it works. However, do not think that TMP is just a Royal Blood clone trying to ride on their shirt tails. Oh No, TMP are hard rockers, have a sound all their own.
JAMES GILLESPIE - http://www.jamesgillespie.es/
A good friend of Racket, James is more than a musician, he has lived through every song and it shows during his performance. His charismatic personality is contagious, and his use of the loop and harmony pedal with his vocal diversity and artistry are both intriguing and fascinating to watch.
VELUDO PLANES - https://www.facebook.com/PlanesBand
Identical twin brothers, a potential triplet candidate, and blond adoptee. Previously supported, The Subways, Circa Waves, Cerebral Ballzy and Flyte, Club NME.
"There’s an unpredictability about the track...constantly changing pace and structure through the verses, before winding up at this huge anthemic chorus...with this debut track it’s pretty likely that we’ll be seeing a hell of a lot more of them in the near future" - Vulture Hound Magazine.
"With their debut single, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, Portsmouth rock band Veludo Planes are entering the indie scene with a slew of catchy guitar riffs and an addictive chorus reminiscent of early 90’s indie rock" - A Music Blog Yea
"The future seems awfully promising for the talented Southsea quartet that is Veludo Planes." - The Independent Blog
WILD ECHO - https://www.facebook.com/wildechomusic
A dreamy blend of sunkissed, jangly melodies with stormy undertones. Full bodied, warm and complex. Goes well with fish.

Remote View - www.remoteviewmusic.com
Comprising of members from all very different backgrounds, Remote View is a London based band that fuses the different influences and musicality of four inventive and capable musicians. Best described as a fusion of pop, funk and blues, the band produces collective compositions capturing a little bit of each others personalities. Their new EP is fast gaining popularity and is a musical experience not to be missed.
COLE - www.soundcloud.com/cole-music
Harry Pane - www.harrypane.co.uk
Harry is a 'Stompin' folk artist. Writing songs using subjects sometimes close to the heart. He does this using a voice that is incredibly soulful and emotive. Harry is an experienced and well received live performer. His talent is one not to be missed! You can find his Original Music on www.musicglue.com/harry-pane iTunes/ Spotify - titled 'Real Souls'
Henry Ashton - www.soundcloud.com/henryashtonmusic
Henry Ashton is a Singer-Songwriter from Glastonbury, but based in London. Like so few modern artists, his story appears to write itself. Growing in Glastonbury, his sound was carved out before he even realised with festival lights for inspiration. Henry has been entertaining audiences at some of the most famous venues in London with his ability to write songs that all people can relate to, painful break ups, drunken mistakes and guys you really can't stand. Either way, you will have the catchy melodies and cutting lyrics playing in your head for days. Citing influences from Arctic Monkeys to Bon Iver, from Daughter to Jamie T, his live performance will keep you on your toes. With his first EP, "Falling out of Trees" having been released, Henry's journey is set to continue.
