Some good news!

New for 2019: Learn the easy way to make fresh yoghurt. Hopefully we will be able to produce enough yoghurt for breakfast on Sunday morning... radicalbakers.org

The rules are fluid, the judging kind... Get involved in the Radical Bakers Team Bake-Off. There are plenty of ingredients including grains to mill and heritage flours along with lots of different ovens kept hot by a dedicated team. Whatever your level of baking experience, you can drop-in to the Baking Area over the weekend and prepare something for the Grand Final on Sunday at 3pm. radicalbakers.org

We are busy booking new content for Radical Bakers 2019, 13-16th June at Crabapple Community.
Newly confirmed for this year: Dynamic fermenting with John Baker, Maintaining an orchard and forest with Matthew Bishop, Wild meat with Scott Rewild and Foraging and wild food with Chris Phyto. Loads of confirmed workshops already, including textiles, herbalism, willow, brewing, pottery, solar power, basic auto mechanics - on top of all the baking sessions. Radical Bakers has focused talks, discussions and hands-on workshops during the day with quality live music in the evenings. Already booked for the Green Dragon Stage are the Bedrock Bullets (a brilliant Rockabilly band from Brum). Our Saturday night Headliners will be announced as soon as we exchange contracts... :)
This year went really well and we aren't changing much. Numbers have gone from 120 to 150, but we will be having a few less campervans and running a shuttle service to the train station. There will be more workshops, another workshop space and larger fermenting and crafts areas. We are selling more meal tickets (100) and we will pay the catering staff a proper wage. This year they were mainly volunteers and worked tirelessly.

New workshops for next year at Radical Bakers Gathering -

We want to encourage people to use public transport and will be running a shuttle service from Shrewsbury train station on the Thursday evening and Friday afternoon, then back again on Sunday late afternoon and Monday morning. Happy Harvest time Bakers! Enjoy the mists and mellow fruitfulness. Next year we will also be running a smaller Autumn camp.
After a busy summer, I have started into the organisation for next year. Dates are confirmed with Crabapple for 13-16th June 2019. Tickets are on-sale at radicalbakers.org/tickets with earlybird tickets available until the end of November.

Radical Bakers Gathering is back at Crabapple Community in 2019. Loads of focused workshops with live music, Cafe and Bar. We are a solar powered sustainable living festival with a focus on food and practical skills.

Photos of RB 2018 coming soon... In the meantime, a quick question: Would anyone be interested in a smaller camp around Harvest time? I'm looking at the beginning of September, either at Crabapple or another site in Shropshire/Herefordshire/Cheshire. Please let me know if you are interested so I can judge the numbers and whether it is viable this year. Thanks!

Radical Bakers 2018. What lovely people and atmosphere.
Please brace yourselves for a long gushing post. Things went fairly well from an organising point of view, but what made it was the amazing atmosphere. How chilled and friendly was it? There are so many people to thank, if I forget someone I am sorry.
