The Radley College Community, including staff, students, parents and friends have been collecting food donations during the last few weeks in different locations around the College to contribute to the Abingdon Emergency Foodbank. Today, hundreds of bags of food were rounded-up for the Foodbank which was set up by Christ Church, Abingdon in co-operation with other local churches. We were delighted to see our final collection all together in the Coffee Shop which has now been delivered. Very many thanks to all those who have helped, supported and generously donated items for the Abingdon Emergency Foodbank in time for Christmas #RadleyCharities #GoRadley

Some incredibly powerful performances from our drama students last night in 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying?'. On Saturday (10th November) we were delighted to welcome 50 families to Radley for our Funded Places Open Day. There was a great buzz around the theatre foyer as parents and dons chatted over coffee and then heard an inspiration talk - with excellent questions from the boys - by The Warden. For many, it was their first visit to the College, but we hope that they came away with an idea of the possibilities available for the boys in all scholarship areas: academic, music, sport..., art and drama. One theme that emerged was their desire to give their son(s) space to pursue his varied talents and as an all boarding school, with a long day, we have time for everything. The day finished with a tour of the school by current pupils, in which parents and boys could find out more about life in the thick of it. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and look forward to seeing many of the families again, on personal visits.

The annual Radley College trip to Japan this year took place between the 12th and 20th of October. Five Radley boys from the 6.1 year group went on the trip to stay with a host family in Ichinomya, in central Japan. It was an amazing experience for all involved. 6.2 dramatists visited St Saviour’s church in Knightsbridge, the headquarters of Intermission Youth Theatre (IYT). It was great to see the boys participate in a workshop with the same group of members who came to Radley last year. IYT puts on contemporary adaptations of Shakespeare plays, devising them in sessions throughout the year, before a final script is put together by their artistic director and they perform the play. A stimulating workshop for all involved.

A delight to welcome HRH The Earl of Wessex to Radley for the official opening of our new McKenna Strength and Conditioning Centre. The afternoon saw a royal game of Real Tennis take to the courts to raise money for @DofE Charity followed by the unveiling of Radley’s new Real Tennis racquet to commemorate and celebrate 10 years of Real Tennis at Radley College.
