What an amazing video!

There has been a serious RTC which has closed the A41 on the way to Wolverhampton. This will mean that any traffic heading to Wolverhampton will have to join the M54 and go down one junction.

What a fantastic display. Well done to all that organised it. The expertise in flying those planes is out of this world.

We had no problem with traffic going, but then we knew it would be busy so allowed extra time. Getting out the parking area took a little longer, but then everyone was going home so again to be expected.

Good selection of stalls. I think a fruit stall would be good as not everyone wants burgers, but thats just my opinion.

The weather was glorious, allowing for lovely pictures. I dont know the answer but when talking over the displays it could be a bit louder as you couldn't hear what was being said.

As said in previous comments refreshments could be cheaper as lets face it either way they going to make a killing.

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE

User

Went for the first time. What an excellent day. I must admit to not looking at the static displays as I found the aerial stuff far to interesting to miss. Plus, I am disabled and it was a long way to walk from where I found a wonderful place to sit. That would be my only slight beef, the disabled car park was quite a walk from the runways when you took into account the incoming traffic. We were all so lucky with the weather and as for getting in and out of the site, it has taken me a lot longer at a pop concert...and that was without an accident on the road. All in all a brilliant day out.

User

Thoroughly enjoyed the airshow. The static displays were very good. Our grandchildren, and me, really enjoyed the Red Arrows flight simulator. Sam even wore his Arrows flying suit. We reminisced with the Phantom guys and BF B S and saw some interesting exhibits. Of course, the flying displays were superb. We particularly like the fast jets, but when the Battle of Britain Flight flew over us, people stood and applauded. We finally got to see the Typhoon which was amazing. All respect is due to the RAF, and Cosford in particular for putting on an excellent show - a fitting tribute for the 100 years anniversary.

Traffic queues in and out to be expected when 60 thousand people were attending. It was made worse going out due to the serious road accident on the Wolves road. We followed advice and remained at the show for another hour and went around the museum. It was a lovely gesture to be handed bottled water on our way out, most welcome. Thanks for another brilliant day.

User

Same time next year?! Only thing I'd change would be the food vendors being so close to the flight line. Create more space for the die hard viewers and move everything else back a bit. Other than that, amazing

User

My first year attending the air show & I LOVED IT! Such a wonderful day! I literally could have cried in awe at the display, particularly the red arrows! Yes the traffic was awful but staff and police were directing as best they could. Handing out free water was a nice added touch when adviced not to leave for at least an hour after the show, on such a hot day! Will definitely be returning again! A big Thank you to all that organised and executed such a fantastic event!

User

My first time at the show 2018, my first time taking air craft pics and I loved every minute of it, wow what a day packed from start to finish with entertainment, fabulous show, the whole family really did love it. My only complaint would be the price of food and drinks there from the burger vans was extortionate, they won't catch me again lol, taking a picnic is definitely advised, other than that it was brilliant. I will definitely be going next year..... with a picnic.

User

It was our first time as a family and we all absolutely loved it. I remember going to Finningley air show as a child but my two boys had no expectations and no idea what it would be like.

I must be honest it made me really emotional. The roar of the engines and the vibration in your chest reminded me of seeing Concorde as a child. Then the splendour of the Lancaster with the Dakota, Spitfire & Hurricane got the tears flowing yet again. Lastly to see the precision of The Red Arrows coming behind the crowd to surprise everyone just took my breath away and is a sight I will always remember.

It made me so proud if my country and to be British.

I thought organisation was fantastic and well thought out for such a huge crowd. We'll be back next year!! Well done to everyone.

User

Fabulous day, spectacular show As for the slip road fiasco we missed the chance to join the end as it was so far away from the junction it caught us out. Had to be a pusher inner but there were huge gaps and other drivers were really kind. When we got to the top the Marshall was calling people into both lanes anyway. Took a picnic and a parasol, chairs and sun cream, perfect day. Plenty of loos but no where to put rubbish. Superbly well organised and worth every penny ❤️

User

Excellent show both static and flying but the traffic management was poor whilst I except that there was an accident on the A41 there is no excuse for the “Marshall’s” to shrug shoulders and seem more interested in talking to themselves than getting traffic moving in an organised fashion leaving a free for all in the car park

User

Best show for a few years (helped by the good weather) nice mix of flying displays from the old to the new and great static display too. Great to see the MIG and F16 in particular and of course who couldn’t love seeing BBMF and Red Arrows. Only gripe was traffic leaving wasn’t as smooth as last year (not helped by RTC on A41 admittedly). More of the same in 2019 please. A fitting airshow tribute for 100 years of the RAF.

User

Altogether it was an excellent show . We RAF Vets were afforded warm hospitality !

We were housed in the squadron enclosure and shared the facilities ( catering etc. With the RAF Cosford families !

. A couple of points to note ( neither being sufficient to warrant any change in my star rating ) , was that the tannoy system didn’t extend to the area we were seated .

The area was a little too far from the action. Ie too remote from the viewing area .

However a thoroughly good time was had by all and appreciated by all .

Thank you for the experience, we look forward to next years show .

John Wilkinson Vice Chairman Wigan ( NS ) RAFA.

User

Absolutely fantastic show, well worth the ticket admission price. Traffic problems and an RTC which caused massive delays still didn’t dampen our day and was completely out of their control. I would also like to thank the two lovely British Red Cross ladies that came to my aid in my time of need and also a fellow attendee (I’m so sorry I didn’t ask your name!) that helped me prior to them arriving!

User

The getting in was fine the Parking was easy to get to but what was the problem was the end when every man and his dog wanted to leave from just one exit it was a nightmare. I know the accident outside never helped but surely we could of used more than one exit gate to get home

User

The approach roads and entry time is always a nightmare so no point complaining about what nobody can change - but maybe just advertise the fact honestly and let people attending for the first time know just how long they will need to get there if they want to catch the first displays. I remember it being a real eye opening shocker the first time we attended about 12 years ago.

The displays and organisation of the flying was brilliant as always. Considering what the logistics must be it was practically faultless. Having not attended for a couple of years, we found the only down side was that the commentary let the day down slightly. It was very broken and didn't hem the day together in the same way as when the other chap from previous years, (sorry, don't know his name, ) used to do it with so much enthusiasm and plenty of between display chat. It was a bit serious and dry.

But, overall the usual fabulous day!

User

Not been for many years and were delighted with the day in all. Weather well I am still very red. Displays fabulous, static and flying. More taking off/landing would be good to see. Found all the staff and volunteers brilliant and a credit to the event. Special mention to the staff caring for the toilet facilities, they were kept excellent and clean, well done..

We were fortunate and sensible and arrived at site at 8am after a 3/4hr queue. Knowing 60,000 folk were definitely attending am sure improvements on access could of been made. Biggest complaint however is on an extremely hot day access to drinking water limited, forcing folk to pay stupid money at the vendors just to hydrate. Am sure the base had external taps which could of been made accessible and cost virtually nothing for folk to keep hydrated in such glorious heat. Please think on, this isn't to deprive the vendors of money but basic human requirement as it is to require toilet facilities.

User

It was my third visit to this air show flying display was brilliant as was static and hanger displays got in no problem we were on site for 08:30 getting out was horrendous did not move for two and half hours finally pulled into my drive in Sheffield at 22:15 that’s 5hours to get off base and drive 98 miles.

Being the RAF,s only official air show would have thought the traffic control could have been better organised no one seemed to be in charge.doubt I will be going again!!

User

I know the amount of cars trying to get in and out is going to cause delays and that was a bit of a disappointment, although expected. What was more disappointing was the price of food. £5.50 for a bacon sandwich and nearly £3 for a small bottle of water???? What a rip off.

User

A big thanks to everyone that made a great airshow possible. I also went to the photo shoot on the Saturday morning which was great for us photographers, hope that will be done next year too.

I would have given 5 stars but there are a couple of things to consider for future shows.

1: Provide free drinking water bowsers across the site like they do at RIAT, kept reminding everyone to drink water, where from except for traders charging a premium rate?

2: No pedestrian exit by crash gate by Air Ambulance. I came by train and viewed display from that end. Had to walk all way to main entrance to get out to the railway station when I was literally 300yds from crash gate.

3: Maybe time to consider a 2 day event, this would bring more trade and tourism to the area and maybe more traders to the airshow.

Thanks for a great day anyway.

User

Great display and have attended for many years but this was the worst ever for parking. Arrived early but spent ages queuing to get in then two hours to get out.

I thought ticket only this year would have speeded up the process not having to wait for people to have the right change etc but cars were ushered onto fields and you paid going into the event after parking. What the delay was who knows.

Are the organisers bothered though? They have your money from the ticket sale whether you attend or not.

I think this will be my last visit to Cosford the parking ruined the day for me and the family.
