Our teams are out in force tonight as we take two Class 345 Aventras underneath the streets of London. Between Stratford (Pudding Mill Lane portal) and Abbey Wood, the Crossrail Project regularly utilises our capability to haul these multiple units with operational brakes, negating the requirement for barrier or brake force vehicles during transit. Simples! Here are a few pictures from this evenings operation. #crossrail #class345 #aventra #tflrail #elizabethline #bombardier #locomotive #class37 #railoperationsgroup @ Abbey Wood

ROG to the rescue. Severely failed EMU at Watford Junction. ROG supplied the necessary resources and skillset to get this unit back to base! 2x Dellner equipped locomotives, one either end with through pipe. No implications to service running. Safely planned and safely delivered from failure location right to the maintenance shed. #railoperationsgroup #railservices @ Watford Junction railway station

A slightly unusual request this week, but one we were delighted to assist with! This unusual sight of a HST at Upper Holloway, was a result of last week’s bad weather damaging @virgintrainseastcoast fleet. Fantastic teamwork by @networkrail @eastmidlandstrains @virgintrainseastcoast meant we were able to move a HST set at short notice from Cricklewood to London Kings Cross, to avoid cancelling trains for passengers on the East Coast Mainline. Bravo!! 🙌🏻🚅💨#collaboration #railopsgroup #partnershiprailway #trainsofinstagram #hst #teamwork #dreamwork

This morning ROG hauled the final ever Electrostar to be built, 387174, out of the workshop. Running as 5Q40 03:30 Derby Litchurch Lane - Bletchley TMD, bringing with it an end to 19 years of production on the Derby site. In total, 2,805 Electrostar coaches have been built since production began. The first coaches were delivered to @c2c_rail in 1999, since then they have been used by 12 companies, and some even made it to South Africa! #rail #class387 #great #western #railway #rolling #stock #trainsofinstagram #locomotive #railopsgroup #railoperationsgroup #electrostar #387 #174 #derby #litchurch #lane #bombardier #railservices

Beast from the East? ROG keeping the railway open.
The recent weather has brought issues to all of us, but never to shy away from a challenge, and working with our partners The Class 50 Alliance ROG continues to strive to serve the railway community. Utilsing our otherwise redundant road learning loco 50049, ROG has been busy keeping the Midland Mainline open. 50049 is seen here at Kettering in the small hours of 02/03. ROG will continue to be on duty with 50049 and possibly another loco until the beast is finally defeated.

ROG TOC Support for coming engineering works - With planned engineering works often leading to diversion of passenger services, ROGs TOC support expertise have been engaged by a large TOC to help prepare them for the diversion of many services through the East Midlands. Always looking for innovative solutions, Rail Operations Group has teamed up with the Class 50 Alliance to supply a locomotive for up to 10 weeks of route learning for drivers from several depots affected by the improvement works. Head of Rail services Jason Hall said, ‘ROG will always find a way to assist our industry partners, and the temporary deployment of this locomotive further demonstrates that ethos’.
