***AUDITION NOTICE*** Auditions for our September production “Entertaining Angels” by Richard Everett and directed by Steve Berry will be held on Tuesday 18th June. Scripts are currently available from behind the bar.
Production dates are: 12,13,14, 19,20,21 September
... “As a clergy wife, Grace has spent a lifetime on her best behaviour. Now, following the death of her husband Bardolph, she is enjoying the new-found freedom to do and say exactly as she pleases. But the return of her eccentric missionary sister Ruth, together with some disturbing revelations, force Grace to confront the truth of her marriage. Entertaining Angels is a play about faith, loss, family secrets, confession and forgiveness. These painful, thought-provoking themes are played out, with sharp-edged comedy and probing wit, against the seeming calmness of suburbia, set in an English country garden.”
Cast:
Grace, age range 55-65. Brisk, energetic, somewhat resentful of her current unfortunate situation.
Ruth, her sister, slightly older. Spiritual, warm, slightly eccentric
Bardolph, Grace’s husband. 55-70. A country vicar, now deceased
Jo, Grace’s daughter. 30-40, a psychotherapist
Sarah, 30-40, shortly to become the new Vicar
Characters’ ages should only be seen as a guide, as they are dependent on each other.
Please leave a comment below if you cannot attend the audition, or have any questions about the play.

Congratulations to the cast & crew of “Farndale Avenue Townswomen’s Guild Murder Mystery” for the fantastic review they received from our local NODA rep, Gordon Harris. We haven’t included he whole review as we don’t want to give too much away!
““Golly Gosh!!! where do I start? Even the programme is crazy. What have you done Rats? ‘Farndale Avenue Townswomen’s Guild Murder Mystery’ this comedy play directed by Helen Caston is exceptionally BRILLIANT. How the cast kept straigh...t faces I do not know, I know I wouldn’t be able to. This play reminds me of ‘The play that goes wrong”, Which I saw some years back, but is far superior both in direction and cast. Helen you made me chuckle all the way home, this tells me I LOVED this play and your direction was superlative. RaTs you never cease to surprise me, but this goes to the top of the list. From the minute I stepped in the door I knew I was going to be in for a good night. Your audience were with you all the way, as I walked down the alley on the way to the car…I heard ladies saying…”Haven’t laughed like that l ages”” so so good” and “love to see that again to see the cock ups” yes a lady said that. I am inclined to agree with her. Thank you thank you Rats for allowing me to see this superb “cock up of yours” how can you top this?” Gordon Harris NODA SE District 5”
Another huge congratulations to the cast and crew! We also wish them all the best today as they have 2 performances!
This is a production you won’t want to miss - hurry and book your tickets now! www.ticketsource.co.uk/oasthouse
