We visited here on the 4th -5th June. Honestly can’t express what a lovely experience from start to finish, the place is beautiful, service outstanding as are the facilities. We stayed b&b and the breakfast was lovely didn’t feel rushed and the place wasn’t overcrowded as hotels often can be. The rooms were really big as were the bathrooms, we had been for a night out and on our return home the beds had been turned down curtains and blinds closed and a bottle of water at each side of the bed what a nice touch. The bed was huge and so comfortable. Thankyou Raithwaite Estate definitely a 5 star from us.

We stayed here overnight in room 1101 in the keep. The room was clean and spacious although we would have liked a room that wasn’t an accessible room as we would have liked a bath. We had a lovely meal and breakfast was also nice with a good selection. We used the spa facilities which were great very clean and I had a hot stone massage. The best I’ve had!! Would definitely stay again!!

We have stayed here several times, and every-time the experience surpasses the previous! The welcome and on hand concierge is excellent. The cottages are well worth the premium (rambling rose is perfect for a small family - we stayed with a 2yr old and a 2 week old). Breakfast is always a pleasure, the grounds are beautifully kept and the spa is second to none.

We came here for our first wedding Anniversary, couldn't fault a thing, the staff are very helpful, the spa was really relaxing!! Our room was lovely, we stayed in 401 one of the duplex rooms. Would highly recommend coming here.

Thank you for making my birthday so special. Every member of staff was attentive, knowledgeable, considerate and helpful. The spa was wonderful as was the facial I had. The food was delicious, we ate in both restaurants and the grounds were beautiful and immaculate. We will be back hopefully very soon. We stayed 13-15 April.

Stopped over for a night on our journey south and couldn’t have chosen a better destination. Lovely room, beautiful grounds, great food and service. Just wished we could have stayed longer.

Stayed at the hotel for a treat weekend for my wife's birthday. The service from our arrival to our departure was fantastic - very pleasant staff with great local knowledge. Room was spotless and well appointed with an external seating area. Restaurant in main hall was fantastic and the alcohol was reasonably priced for a hotel.

One word for this hotel, fantastic! The staff are so welcoming and helpful, they take a genuine interest in their customers and any needs they may have. Rooms are spotless clean, food was excellent, stunning grounds. The outstanding level of service received from every member of staff and the quality of the this hotel is the reason we will be booking a visit back soon.

On arrival the staff parked the car, carried the bags and turned the bed down. Excellent, lovely room with a lounge area and an upstairs bedroom. A balcony overlooking the river and spa swimming pool. Food was really, really nice. What an excellent stay, thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Me, my mum and my two girls came to visit today to complete the ‘Rabbit Easter trail’ we all enjoyed the free event, especially my girls aged 2 & 4 years old. The gardens are beautiful and we even managed to spot a toad and ducks. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who opened the door and was very pleasant, he gave my girls their maps and explained what they had to do! (Carnt tenner his name) but he was kind to my girls and very accommodating to us, as we arrived back from the trail (we guessed all the bunnies correctly) he greeted us again at the door and let us in. He then involved my girls by checking their answers and letting them choose an Easter egg from his basket! Afterwards we asked if we could stay for food and drinks and he was very informative and gave us the bar menu alongside the children’s menu and showed us were to go. We had a lovely lunch and the children both enjoyed their meals, thank you for the wonderful Easter trail and the lovely service and great food we will be back soon.

Me and my boyfriend had the most amazing time at the spa on Wednesday. We went for the mid week pamper package which included afternoon tea and a 30 minutes back massage. Both ladies doing our massages did a fab job and were very professional. We will be back soon for sure!

Luxurious room. Attractive surroundings. Smart spa and pool. Excellent food in both restaurants. Friendly staff. And, walking distance from Whitby. What's not to like!

I really like this hotel. Surroundings are very peaceful, good rooms, close to whitby town centre, excellent polite and respectful staff who actually open doors for you, good choice of food and good spa. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff . Will definitely go again.

I got married here on Saturday and i can not emphasise how perfect it was! The team at Raithwaite are fantastic and met all of our needs brilliantly. We’ve already booked for our anniversary and we can not wait till we next go. The gardens are breathtaking!

Can not fault this hotel. This is our 9th stay we were lucky enough to be upgraded to the suite. Food lovely and staff always professional helpful and friendly. A great place to unwind we used the spa and had great treatments and will be back again

We had an amazing stay here last night and have come away very happy.

Good points:

-staff are so welcoming, attentive and friendly

-cream tea was really good

-we wanted to order off the room service menu but eat the food down stairs in the restaurant- staff were very accommodating

-delicious food

-spa facilities were excellent and very clean

-good value for money

-amazing cooked breakfast!



Bad points:

-cleanliness not 100% in areas, the baby changer in the toilets near reception was very dirty and my daughter was crawling round on the floor in our room and found two Stickers on the floor. We also had to rinse down the bath as it wasn't clean.

-cocktails over priced. All £10 and weren't overly special.

Would definatly rate a 5* if the cleanliness was better
