We were down at Grantley Hall today providing British Raj High Tea for some of their visitors. We were told they enjoyed it very much. British Raj High Tea - afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, cakes, scones with the added Indian twist of pakoras, samosa, chutneys and masala chai. If you like the look of it, please book at Realitea (24 hours notice required). Sarita xx

Did you know that Realitea got a namecheck on Radio 4 Woman’s Hour yesterday?
A friend of a friend heard it on a podcast. The article featured a woman who marketed the food she sells as good home cooking.
The presenter invited listeners to phone in and mention restaurants/cafes they know that offers good food under the same premis, and someone phoned in and mentioned Realitea.

Charity Event
Apologies for taking so long to post this letter (see pic below) acknowledging and thanking Realitea for the donation made to St Michael's Hospice, following our annual December charity tapas event in memory of Kevin McDermott.
We raised £1050from the event itself and the raffle we held during the evening.
... Huge thanks to our valued guests and friends, and all who very generously contributed prizes.
A big thank you to the Realitea crew Magda, Sylwia and Jodie for madness, laughter and mayhem behind the scenes. Special kudos for the Wansbroughs, the family from over the Pennines who provided serving excellence and MC duties.
Lastly a big thank you to wonderful Sarita, who as always, delivered an Indian culinary tour-de-force, despite having a hugely busy Christmas run up.
We look forward to repeating the event in December 2019.
Kind Regards
Paul REALITEA

Thanks to all who attended our charity Indian Tapas Evening tonight. Your generosity, spirit and humour were boundless. A great time was had by all, but more importantly, we raised a total of £1050 for our nominated charity, St Michael's Hospice. Thanks also to the Lancashire contingent of the family who travelled over the Pennines on a cold night to help us in our endeavour. And as always our dedicated staff who performed tirelessly towards the cause. Sarita xx

Wow! Always loved realitea... Not made it to tapas evening yet but asked sarita and Paul if they could do us a meal for a small private group for my 40th. 3 courses. Not only prob one of the best meals if not the best I have had, the hosts are so kind and nothing too much trouble. What a lovely gem for ripon. Being 40 is not too bad!

We visited here whilst having a short break .I don't usually write reviews but our experience here was delightful. The service was so friendly and I think it was the owner who swayed me to have the Indian breakfast and wow so delicious. Our 8 year old loved his ham said it was the tastiest. My husband salad was so yummy too. Keep up the good work and we will be back soon

User

Visiting family for the week and have been in here two days running now. Currently making my way through their vast tea menu and can honestly say this tearoom is flawless. Two lovely ladies working in here are so welcoming accommodating and friendly. They're also very helpful with providing hot water to heat baby's lunch while we're here. Absolutely lovely place couldn't recommend enough

User

Visited today with my two boys (3 and 6 months) and couldn’t have been looked after better! The food was fantastic as usual - the tea, delicious, Indian summer cake - my favourite ever cake, chickpea salad, lovely, and the kids food was brilliant! Even my 3 year old commented how yummy the food was (which he doesn’t normally do).

It’s the first time I’ve taken both boys out for lunch on my own, so I was a tad apprehensive, but I didn’t need to be - we were looked after, and even the other customers were lovely!

User

The food here is amazing - we always go for some of the Indian cuisine on the menu as it's home cooked and highly tasty. Reasonable price too!

User

The Indian tapas night is a must! I could not rate it highly enough. The street food and 15 courses were delicious! The owners were so knowledgeable and attentive and the food had amazing flavours and mixtures, and they catered for veggies. Highly recommend but book early as it was full!!

User

Stopped here for lunch..best homemade soup I have ever tasted. Everything fresh and homemade. Quality food and service. Highly recommend.

User

Realitea is a cafe with a twist. You get the usual food served but there are also Indian dishes on the menu. Food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The service is great too. We all enjoyed our breakfast very much. Thank you!

User

Only just found this place, best Masala Chai I have ever tasted, tasty home cooked food too all cooked by a lovely young lady...winner all round 😃

User

Met the girls for a 'cream tea'. Being gluten free was just expecting to have a drink. But staff were amazing and made me a GF cream tea. Was so delicious and so much I couldn't eat it all. Def recommend it!

User

Lovely atmosphere and first class service. I couldn't resist the Yorkshire ham salad sandwich while my wife was a little more adventurous and went for the Indian Brunch. Both fresh and top quality.

User

Just had a lovely lunch thank you, great choice of food and drinks and excellent service, will be back to try more of the menu. Visited you thanks to a recommendation and will definitely be recommending to others

User

I have reservations about giving too much praise for this establishment because it gets more difficult to get access to the superb tapas evenings. The effort the owners and staff put into the event makes this a must see event. Can't wait to return, fab food and ambiance, see you all soon!!

User

I have been to Realitea for two of their Tapas nights, I've enjoyed their British Raj High Tea and yesterday I called in with a friend for a pot of tea and some cake, on Sarita's recommendation I had a slice of Mango cake it was absolutely delicious. I've just bought an Afternoon tea voucher for my mother in law for her birthday I'm sure she and my father in law will really enjoy it. Hope to call in again very soon. X

User

Fantastic evening. The food was amazing and a great description came with every course. Would definitely go again, just wish there were more tapas nights as hard to get a table!

User

Fantastic Indian tapas , must recommend it , really friendly the owners go out of there way to make you welcome, day time is really good as well

User

Been wanting to call in and try the Indian brunch, wasn't disappointed, lovely flatbreads, chickpeas, yoghurt and salad garnishes but the taste was amazing altogether, savoured every mouthful. It would take you about 6 months to sample all their teas I'm sure and my partners English breakfast looked great too! 🍽

User

As a fan of Indian food this is a favourite cafe in Ripon. The food is wonderful and the staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The Indian breakfast is authentic and delicious.

User

Afternoon Tea for my daughters baby shower was amazing. Strawberry tea and rhubarb and cream tea were just two of the many teas we tried. The cakes were especially good and we will be back to try more exciting food soon.
