Our job therefore, is to return a patient back to their full optimal functional, occupational and sport specific fitness as quickly, effectively and safely as possible.

For those who haven’t seen my clarification posts before about what “Sports Therapy” is, I have taken the time to explain below.
Sports Massage is a treatment that we as Sports Therapists can choose to use but our knowledge, skills and ability allow us to do much more.
Some people worry that a Sports Massage is going to be painful and will avoid it where they can. ... Some describe it as a deep tissue massage which is also misleading as we are lead by the scale set by our patients and I have tried to explain and clarify the benefits of a Sports Massage below.

Sorry for the long post but this is important......
There are a lot of people who are currently ill-informed about what a Sports Therapist is and what we can do.
A BSc Sports Therapist (like myself), will have completed a 3yr degree course at an accredited University.
... A practitioner with this title has the skills and extensive musculoskeletal knowledge to assess, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate an injury of any sort in a similar way to a Physiotherapist.
Unfortunately due to our current unprotected title, we are sometimes referred to as Sports Massage Therapists and assumed to only deal with sporting injuries. This again however, is in fact untrue.
Sports Massage is just one of the modalities that we are able to perform should we feel it necessary to use it and the musculoskeletal system is the same whether you injure yourself at work, at home in the garden or on the pitch/court playing sport.
So if you are suffering with everyday aches and pains or an injury that you’ve suffered at work, at home or participating within sport, give me a call and see what I can do for you.
