When trees on a landscape are a gift and I couldn't help but think of one of my favourite wedding readings from Captain Corelli's Mandolin....
LOVE IS A TEMPORARY MADNESS, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is.
Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the... promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.
Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and, when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.
Can't wait to capture the day these guys commit to standing as one tree <3

Dyrholaey Lighthouse, The Milky Way & Me......
It has been a bucket list shot to photo the lighthouse and with a sea mist, it really helped to add atmosphere to the shot!

One more look out the window before I fall asleep and the skies were dancing with such a big clearing in the clouds.....I screamed for everyone to get up.....we all grabbed coats, shoes, duvets...whatever we could find to get outside and marvel at the dancing skies.
It looked different tonight, there were lots of random flashes which I've not seen before which made it all the more exciting!
There is the most brutal gale blowing and so we used the protection of the airbnb screened veranda to shield us! It is howling on outside.....now for some sleep!

Fighting cloud tonight......but we got to see some aurora - hell to the yes!!! And shooting stars in 2 frames :) EEEEEEEK!!!! AB Jewellery's first aurora too!

So excited for Chris & Karen's Wedding today.
The last one of what I call 'summer season' - the beautiful months of May - September and I am at one of my all time favourite places in Kent, wonderful Elmley Nature Reserve.
I adore it here, so much natural beauty and big skies. We've got a gorgeous day of sun with hardly any breeze - let's hope for one of those Elmley sunsets!
... Elmley is a place that I always say is the closest I get to feeling like I am in Iceland, with how open the panoramic views wrap around and this is the first time I'll head from there on to Iceland tomorrow :)
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone I have had the joy of working with in this summer and this year. It has been a corker, the hottest year I have ever shot in, 9 years in and I just feel so lucky and humbled to do a job that I love and work with so many spectacularly lovely couples, their families and their friends.

Could you imagine seeing a volcanic eruption first hand? The guys at Atlantsflug overflew the mighty Bardarbunga eruption in 2014....just wow!!
One of my fascinations with Iceland is seeing the rawness of nature. Having done geography at uni and adoring seeing things with photography, makes for a bucket list combo!
I was travelling in Iceland when this eruption was active, but it was so far into the central highlands that it was really only accessible by air and that is wha...t Atlantsflug do best. And not just when volcanoes are active, Iceland from the air is the most incredible, other-worldly experience that imagination doesn't even come close to covering and flying with them just leaves you in awe and stunned!
This volcanic system is building up to another eruption which sporadic earthquakes showing the magma chambers filling....and it isn't the only system that is building, Katla, Hekla, Askja and Öræfajökull are all showing signs of unrest in recent years. As to when they will erupt is anyone's guess, but for me, that is the thrill of Iceland!
I'll stop being a geography-photography geek....if you're ever in Iceland, I can't rave enough about taking to the air with these guys.
