About Recycles, Booth House

As a Social Enterprise, we also create opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness to turn their lives around, recognise their full potential, learn and develop enabling them to transform their own lives.

Recycles, Booth House Description

We provide a meeting place and resource centre for people that share our enthusiasm for all things related to cycling. Drop in for all kinds of information, help and advice; from local cycle routes, clubs and the benefits of cycling to organised events. And, naturally, recycles can professionally repair or service your bicycles at competitive rates or sell you a quality refurbished model ready to go.
• Cycle sales
• Servicing
• Parts new and used
• Puncture repair
• Workshop facilities
• Accessories
• Training
Our mechanics are professionally trained and all our bikes are safety checked to recognised British standards. We provide a free service within three weeks of purchase for all the bikes that we sell.

We started recycles to help people rebuild their lives whilst providing a service and resource to the community. We show people a way back into work and let them realise their full potential. By giving them self confidence and a belief in their future we see individuals grow, develop, feel valued and contribute to their local community again.

We are receiving lots of emails and messages to see if we are open & how supporters can support us through this challenging time.
We are closed until further notice to protect both our staff & residents. As soon as we can, we will reopen and update via our social media channels.
We are fundraising to help keep us going and to allow up to still offer training opportunities to our residents as soon as we can reopen.
... If you'd like to support this way, please see below the link. We would like to thank all of our committed supporters for their well wishes and we look forward to seeing you all again soon

We are receiving lots of request to take donations of bikes through this time.
If you have a bike you would like to donate, we are still happy to accept. We would ask that you drop the bike into Booth House Swindon SN12BF. You will be allowed to drop off into our car park, but for social distancing purposes, we ask you drop the bike outside our building and a member of staff will come and collect it.
You do not need to ring us or email in advance, you are welcome to arrive... at the gates to drop off.
We want to thank all of our supporters through this hard time.
Please feel free to drop us a message if you have any questions.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - 18 March 2020
In view of recent developments we have decided to close the bike shop from this Friday for the next 2 weeks.
This has been a very difficult decision for us to make. We know how much our customers enjoy the relaxed, safe and welcoming space we have created but we are taking this decision in advance to ensure we keep everyone as protected as possible.
... If you currently have repairs in with us, we will be working to get these completed this week, and will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
We hope you understand the reasons behind our decision and we would like to thank all of our amazing supporters at this hard time.
Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for future updates. Small charities like ours are solely reliant on customer support and we look forward to working with you all again soon.

Recycles Update. Whilst no-one has shown signs or symptoms we want to ensure all of our customers we are taking the right steps.
Recycles are taking the spread of Coronavirus extremely seriously. Our number one priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our people and customers, providing a safe and clean environment for you to enjoy your time in Recycles.
... We are staying well informed of the developing situation and are following the advice and recommendations from the Government, Public Health England and the World Health Organisation.
We are in daily contact with all team members working in our store, who continue to be stringent around hygiene and cleaning regimes including thorough, frequent handwashing. We have also increased our cleaning in store, particularly for those areas touched regularly by team members and customers.
Finally, to help minimise the spread of the virus, we are following the latest Government recommendations and asking any team member with flu-like symptoms to self-isolate for seven days. We continue to request that any store team member returning from certain affected areas abroad – or those who have been in close personal contact with someone who has contracted the virus - to self-isolate for fourteen days. We have also asked that team members with mild symptoms who have been to any of the countries listed on the Government website, do not enter our store.
We are still open. We would like to thank all of our customers and supporters for their ongoing support.

What a morning. Our residents practiced making our breakfast baguettes for our coffee morning next Friday with our social enterprise The Sandwich People
They smelt and tasted delicious that we ended selling them all to staff and residents at a reduced cost and made over £20 for our fundraising efforts.
It was a great morning & it gave us the opportunity to help teach our guys how to cook something different.

We had a very exciting weekend here at Recycles.
Simon & Chloe took a drive to Wellingborough to meet with Satcol, the Salvation Army trading company to help support with the very exciting expansion of Recycles! We dropped of 14 bikes ready for them to sell in their new shop.
We have been working with Satcol, head office and a few other key members of staff to move towards franchising our brand. Satcol will be working with us to ensure the logo, branding and policies match ...those in Swindon.
This is an amazing step forward for us, especially as we gear up to celebrate 10 years next year!
Keep an eye out for more information. We will be sharing all the opening details with you shortly!
