Went to the red lion for the first time tonight was surprised at the large garden. 20 of us for my nieces 21st birthday. I was very impressed with the meals they were very nice & reasonably priced. The lady serving the meals was polite & nothing was too much trouble for her. Will definitely go again.
We visited last night

And stayed for the rock band
2bh I was dreading
The rock band
But had a fantastic night
With great company
Watched the United v Liverpool match here with a very friendly scouse landlord. Excellent atmosphere and the waiter service is a great touch. Place looks to be on the up. 5
The best community boozer about.
The staff are polite and helpful. Food is
Excellent and the service is of the best. Good choose of beers. And for the sports and entertainment is brilliant. I enjoy going
Too the red lion. But the best of all is the locals. Xxxxxxxxxx
Splendid family-friendly pub run by very welcoming staff, serving tasty food and perfect hand-pulled ales. The steaks are cooked beautifully to your liking and the Beef & Double Gloucester pie just melts in the mouth. Sports are shown on big screens and there are lots of family-oriented events too. A superb community local in every sense!
I watched the Haye fight on Saturday night At the Red Lion and I had a great time. Food was delicious and didn't take long to arrive. Staff attentiveness was perfect especially Hannah and Ross who went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. Although it was busy the wait time at the bar wasn't long. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you.
Great entertainment from the chamberlain brothers
Good food, great selection of cocktails 🍹, great entertainment and fantastic company, what else do you need for a fantastic night out 😍
Busy place on a Sunday, but both food and drink came out quickly. Very good considering how full it was. Cheers.
Bloody love the red lion 🦁🏴 Always a great night great staff and good acts. Need to keep the toilet roll stocked up though please however always replaced when asked for 👍🏻👌❤️ Thanks guys 👍🏻😁
A friendly pub, great staff and food! The quiz nights on Tuesday nights have a great atmosphere. Live music at weekends.
Visited last night for a family meal as a last minute decision. Staff were friendly and helpful and the meal was great. They did run out of ice cream but the manager came over and offered my 3 children a pudding of their choice from the menu to apologise for running out! Will visit again.
Great pub great atmosphere and being local great to walk too and sit out in the garden. Disappointed yesterday bank holiday and clearly not enough staff on to cater for food, drinks and clearing the empties
Still a great pub and would recommend the food
I went to the Red Lion with my elderly parents and was initially told to wait 15 mins before ordering food as there was something to sort out in the kitchen. We ended up waiting 45mins for our meal. The new manager apologised and gave us free drinks and said they had an issue in the kitchen. Me and my father enjoyed our meal but my mother's meal was very poor. She had fish and chips but there was 95% batter, which she is not allowed to eat. The whole experience was very mishmash, with the manager running about doing everything. Wont be going there again for a while.
service is crap , needs a real manager that can get staff working
hadn't been to the red lion for ages but decided to have a meal there, which they had run out of steak so had to order something else! and then the food was frozen rubbish. After our meal I wiped the table with a baby wipe n was horrified that the table was really dirty had I of known that I wouldn't of eaten there. The toilets are filthy with no soap so makes me wonder how clean is the kitchen!
Well, that was the worst meal we have ever had there. They said it would be 1/2 hour wait, I said thats ok. After 35 mins, they came and said they only had 1 fish, so changed the other for scampy, which was cheaper on the menu, no signs of a refund. When the meals arrived 50 mins later, the fish & scampy was well over cooked, crispy & almost stone cold, so were the chips. I think it'll be the last time there.
Load of rubbish
Bar staff haven't got a clue what they are doing
they took a booking for 20 then after food coming out 20-25 minutes apart they very rudely tell us we don't have the kitchen To cater for larger groups
Steak was vial curly fries where nice and so are the peas
Booked a table for 8 for mothers day for 3pm got there & no table has they had over booked .but they sorted a table out for us in 20 minutes. & we all was given a free drink. But when we ordered our 3 course meal . we was told there was a hour wait .we ordered at 3:50 come 5pm no starter then come 5:35 still no starter so will all said sod it & got a refund & went for a curry over the road. But our one son who had only ordered a burger decided to wait has he had a full drink and is friend had walked in .he told us that come 6 he gave up & got a refund. 2hrs for a burger . Joke
