Red Shoes Dance Studio York Description
At Red Shoes Dance Studio we offer classes from Tots (2yrs 9 mths) to Advanced 2 level , from young semi-professionals to those who simply love to dance. We offer Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Street & Commercial Dance, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Tap, Stretch and Strengthen and Audition Preparation. Cheer lifts and double work are included in the Jazz classes, so we have a full range of dance styles on offer. Students can choose to take Ballet and Tap examinations with the Imperial Society of Teacher of Dancing. Past pupils have been successful in gaining places on scholarship programmes such as Royal Ballet Associates, Northern Contemporary Associates and Louise Brown York Scholars. Places gained at Dance and Performing Arts College include: The Northern Ballet School, Hammond, Legat, Britt, Urdang, Rambert, Lainne, Tring, London Studio Centre, Bretton hall, Studio La Pointe, Phil Winston, MDDC, Laban, East 15, Stella Mann, Northern Contemporary, Performers, Millenium, Elmhurst and Arts Educational to name but a few. Students have gone on to work in Theatre, TV, Film, West End and Work abroad. We are very proud of our student’s successes and having been part of their lives. Other past students opting for alternative careers have found the fun, physical training, self discipline, confidence and friendships made at Red Shoes Dance Studio, have helped them develop successful careers and lives. We over plenty of opportunities to perform through out the year.

Please can any one donate light weight clothing ages 6- 16 years size 6-14 for our SASH performance in varying shades of blue, grey , red, purple, lilac, burgundy, green, white and brown for our layered , urban look.

Idea's for layer look for SASH performance. Please use soft comfortable, loose clothing in Greys, whites, blues, burgundies/red, brown, green, purple. One colour only.
Dance Proms 2016 on 30th October at the Royal Albert Hall London. Please will all Contemporary group bring there clothes for Monday 25 April. We are recording the finished section of the SASH piece to send as our audition show real for dance proms. 👍

Don't worry RSD location safe. We have a back up plan if this happens. However they have been saying this off and on for 30 years. Plus they will build a newer studio if this one goes . All is good.
Advanced jazz and advanced Tap cancelled tonight 7.30-8.30 and 8.30-9.30, as teacher unwell and had to go home. Sorry for any disruption , a cover teacher was not available.
