Yesterday evening, Redcar Coastguard Rescue Team attended the Cleveland Fire Brigade UK Line Rescue Unit at Coulby Newham.
Steve Hart, Senior Coastal Operations Officer for HM Coastguard said “The aim of the visit was to provide a greater understanding of the roles and capabilities of the Coastguard Rescue Service and how we would work together with our rope rescue systems”.
“As well as providing a full training input in the operational capabilities of the Coastguard, Clevela...nd Fire Brigade were also given an opportunity to see the wide range of specialist rescue equipment which the team has at its disposal including full water rescue and technical rope rescue equipment”.
The team wishes to extend their thanks to the staff from Cleveland Fire Brigade.

A great day supporting the Saltburn Pier 150th Anniversary event. We even had time to catch up with the local PCSOs. In a coastal emergency, please dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

It doesn't matter what rank we are. It doesn't matter how many years of service we've had.
What matters is, we are all involved for the same reason.
... To search. To rescue. To save.
