What a brilliant result from the Special Olympics for Eston's Carole Jennison and Mica Hoare as well as Sean Jewitt from Stockon! What an amazing haul of medals. Does anyone have a contact for Carole and Mica - we'd love to ask them to become Redcar | Cleveland Ambassadors and help us spread the word about our borough being a great place to live, enjoy and do business.

1. OK, so it’s not in #OurRedcarCleveland but we hope everyone has a brilliant time at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Middlesbrough.
2. After being laid off ONE DAY into his working career, young Lewis Mitchell is now thriving thanks to his hard work and the support of a great new employer.
... 3. Top arrows - Glen Durrant wins again! Great darts player and Redcar | Cleveland Ambassador Glen Durrant wiped out the world’s number one Michael van Gerwen opposition to lift his second PDC title. The former Beyond Housing UKteam member Glen is wowing the pro circuit.
4. Redcar | Cleveland Ambassadors Sabic at Wilton International Redcar made a generous donation to the East Cleveland Scarecrow Festival. Running from 3 – 31 August, the popular festival is the brainchild of fellow Redcar | Cleveland Ambassador and human dynamo Denise Nesbit. This pic shows SABICs Claire Wordsworth just after being pecked by an inquisitive peacock!
5. This moved us – Vinny, a charming three-year-old pooch from Redcar, has become the first dog in the UK to have an ankle replacement. We hope Vinny, who has been suffering from osteoarthritis, isn’t feeling too woof after his ground breaking operation.

6. We enjoyed a brief Twitter chat with Saltburn born rock n roll legend David Coverdale about our shared love for Saltburn Pier!

Meet Barbara Helen from our friends Keeping It Clean At Saltburn. Helen is part of a committed team of volunteers who meet at Saltburn beach on the first Saturday of every month at 11am to do a litter pick. As well as these committed people, lots of people like to do a spot of tidying up while they're out and about. Perhaps you've noticed these 'Love the Beach' signposts in Saltburn? If you're enjoying a day out in Saltburn and fancy taking two minutes to clear up any litter,... these boards have litter pickers you can use. Of course, we'd all prefer people not to drop litter at all but much of the rubbish on our beaches has washed up from the sea. Tackling litter and keeping our areas clean and tidy takes an effort from us all. We're grateful to people like Helen for the positive impact they make on their communities.
