Reeman Dansie was established in 1881 in the heart of Colchester. Over our 130 year history we have built up an excellent reputation as auctioneers and valuers.

Reeman Dansie hold regular Royal Auctions which are included as a section in our Antique and Fine Art sales. Following the success in 2008 of our sale of the William Tallon Collection (formerly the Queen Mother’s butler) which realised £440, 000, we have gained an unrivalled reputation for selling Royal letters, Christmas cards, presentation items, jewellery, signed photographs and other Royal related items.
We have a mailing list of over 700 collectors for Royal memorabilia from around the world which accounts for the phenomenal prices which we achieve.

Coming up on 10th April in our Fine Art & Antique Sale is this important Asprey Gold (18ct) Strawberry Set - after a design by Paul Lamerie - made in The Queen's Coronation year 1953 and forming part of a solid gold table service made to display the exquisite craftsmanship prevailing in Britain in the Coronation year and to enhance the reputation of British goldsmiths in overseas markets, especially in America, where it was sent on tour.
The Strawberry Set comprising a sugar ...caster and cream jug which sit in a double frame with scroll handle, all finely chased and foliate engraved, the frame with foliate pierced base and cast shell feet - each hallmarked 18ct gold, Coronation Queen's head, Asprey & Co. and date letter for 1953. Sold with original Asprey typed information sheet and copy of original Asprey's sales invoice for 13th December 1967 for £3,000.
This is also a first for something we've sold here! There is a Pathe Newsreel showing the craftsmen at Asprey creating the service.
