Regency Cottage

Having been here before we were looking forward to a quiet evening out with a nice meal. When we arrived there was a group of 6 people on a table near to where we were seated, they were extremely loud and their language was appalling. It would appear that they had been drinking rather a lot. They were abusive about the staff and even when their food arrived they were still shouting and swearing. We were extremely surprised that no member of staff came to ask them to be quieter and to respect other customers - although I would have been too frightened to say anything to any of them for fear of the consequences. When they did eventually leave the restaurant, everybody that was in there clapped their hands, what a relief!!!

Good food went on banquet night Wednesday and all in starter, main, side, poppumdom, Mann or rice for 11:95 not bad although my veg curry side with a biryani counted as my side which I thought was a bit mean as a biryani always comes with a veg curry anyway! Staff were efficient although the lady seemed a little moody but all in all a good experience.

One star star for the food was not bad 2nd star for giving us a sit straight away however the coke had no fezz we had to ask them to provide us with cutlery set, don't expect any smile service when you there not bad for the price however could do with better service.

Great banquet night. Food excellent, service attentive but not obtrusive and superb value for money. Would have been 5 stars if we had not been forced to listen to the football halfway through the meal!

Decent food, pretty clean, spotless toilets.

Best curry house in Clacton, never had Delhi belly from this restaurant. Great vindaloo. Just wish it opened at 5pm :)))
