Relationship Health Matters

About Relationship Health Matters

There is something missing in our practice with children and families - it's called Relationship Health. It is not obvious how something as big as this got overlooked but it has and there is a need to do some rethinking. . So training in the Adult-Child Well-Being 'I Matter' Framework offers professionals (and parents) a method of exploring what Relationship Health is and why it matters. It is for those who want to invest in their own personal development so they can better work more effectively with others to improve outcomes for children, adults and communities. The I Matter Framework draws together well-evidenced familiar ideas about stress, child development, brain development and the adult role and teaches them in an innovative accessible and very practical fashion . The training is provided via supported CPD accredited online learning, using attractive resources and tools that build reflection and self-awareness. It is suitable for professionals from education, health and social care who want to improve their confidence in working with others to help children. At present we are offering I Matter Training for parents-carers only in the Kendal area where in partnership with the Kendal Integrated Care Community we are building a local network that brings together professionals in health and education including GP's and Heads as well as professionals supporting adopted children and children looked after and children who have been diagnosed with autism or adhd etc. The intention is to support improved understanding and a shared language that empowers the community to actions that can respond appropriately to the rising tide of challenging behaviour and child mental health difficulties.
