As Restuarant 1840 continues to grow we have an opportunity to take on an Apprentice Chef to join the team. If your lookig for a career as a chef then this maybe an opportunity for you to learn on the job, get qualified and gain experience to set you up for the future.

a bit of a late review , we ate and had sunday lunch a couple of months ago this is a real gem for telford and the team are amazing with a great chef. Josh.. slightly different concept for sunday lunch but worked really well We will most def be returning and would recommend. Very easy to park and lots of open space in a unique setting i particular liked the owners had used the old site being a church to utilize pews etc into furniture for the resturant - well done, cu soon

Went for the first time last night. What a lovely restaurant. The way it’s been done out is really lovely. Food and wine absolutely lovely, one of the best cheese boards I’ve ever had!!! Staff very attentive and our waitress couldn’t do enough to make our evening more pleasurable. Thank you all xx

We went for our wedding anniversary celebration meal. What a treat!!! 💏 Each course was truly delicious. The salmon, cream cheese and caviar balinis are scrumptious, especially accompanied with a glass of prosecco!! The ambiance inside this historic building is lovely and quite classy. We loved the personal service we received from Ethan our waiter, who made us feel special. It was an amazing all round experience! Well worth a visit.

We visited Restaurant 1840 for Sunday lunch on what was a very hot day. It was so nice to be welcomed by friendly staff and then taken to our table. The premises are an old chapel and it has a lovely interior design the tables are made from pews from the chapel I understand. I loved the atmosphere and layout and it was so cool and airy. The food was amazing the most wonderful Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding. I had 3 courses every one was delicious. The service was fabulous :) We will be visiting again and again :)

We had dinner here last night, it was amazing. The building is beautiful and there’s a lovely atmosphere in the place. The young boy who served us was very friendly he obviously enjoys his job. The service was excellent , nothing was a bother and very professional. The food was also excellent, I had the 10oz Sirloin and my husband had the sea bass, both were cooked to perfection, I didn’t manage a sweet but I’m sure I will next time! Loved the whole experience we will certainly be back! Well done to the whole team!

Decent portions, and very tasty food.

This morning we had an amazing brunch visit to Restaurant 1840. The eggs Benedict was superb. It was so lovely I could have eaten it twice! The fidget sausage was also fabulous (a stolen taster from the hubby!) We also sneaked in a mimosa which was a great way to start the day as I wasn’t driving! The restaurant looks great and so pleased to see people enjoying the unique surroundings and brilliant service. Well done guys and can’t wait to visit again soon for an evening meal.

Stayed for a night away at the madley court hotel and found this restaurant on the off chance. Had some great reviews online but yet everyone we spoke to local had not heard of the place!? I’ve got to honest it made me a little bit worried. But as soon as we arrived our worries were over. We were greeted at the door and showed to our table straight away. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We ordered our food, we both had starters and mains. 5 mins later an appetiser was brought to our table, we was not expecting this at all which was nice touch. After tasting the appetiser we couldn’t wait for the rest of our food. We both ordered the fillet and they were both cooked to perfection. The sides, sauces and everything that came with it was really nice too! Right from the word go the food was perfect, the drinks were brilliant and the staff were like non we’ve ever experienced before. It’s a very quirky and unique restaurant and we loved it! We will definitely be returning and we would recommend to anyone to go and try this little place out!

Probably the most striking restaurant in Telford.

Really lovely setting and a hell of a lot of love and effort has gone into the renovation.

Thankfully, the food and service matches. Pretty much a flawless meal and great to see such passionate owners. We will definitely be returning.

Our first visit yesterday to Restaurant 1840 following recommendation (a party of four). We were not disappointed. Restaurant 1840 is a real gem of place with food of the highest quality and an excellent menu. The service from the outset was outstanding. We were each delighted with our choice of dishes (lamb, belly pork, mushroom bourguignon and the goats cheese) - all were superb. Thank you all for a fine dining experience all round. We will certainly be returning

Our first visit last night and we really enjoyed it, the refurbishment of the church was lovely. The food was amazing great quality wonderfully cooked. Our waiter was just fantastic attentive without being intrusive.

We shall be back and highly recommend

My wife and I came tonight (friday) as a treat to celebrate our 8th wedding annivesary, we had heard the recommendations and as the restaurant is in walking distance we thought we would come and have a meal.

The hospitality is outstanding, greated at the door by very friendly staff who knew our name, coats taken and shown through to the table and introduced to the restaurant and it's menu including the buildings history before been introduced to our waitress for the evening. The restaurant has such a relaxed atmosphere. The renovation work to the building is beautifully done and retains its character. The food was absolutly gorgeous and the best meal I've had . Quality, presentation and taste is an absolute credit to the chefs. We are so.lucky to have such a fantastic restaurant on our door step. Thank you so much to you all for a great night.



I can't recommend restaurant 1840 enough.

Me and my husband came here for breakfast the staff are lovely, the food was to die for and the building is amazing. We have a feeling this will become a regular for us. It’s great to see a proper food restaurant in Telford. We will be recommending it to our family and friends.

Me and my Wife would like to thank Barry, Rebecca and all the staff for making our Wedding meal very special. We couldn’t have asked for more, the food and service were top class and everyone bent over backward to make our day special in such a beautiful setting. Thank you very much!

Lovely evening celebrating Jans 50th. Place was spotless, tables laid beautifully with attention to detail thoughout the beautifully and tastefully restored building. Staff very professional and attentive. Food was amazing; cooked and presented to perfection. No expense spared with cutlery, crockery and napkins. Highly recommend.

Had dinner there this evening and the food was beautiful. Five of us in my group and not a single negative comment from anyone. Tasty, well presented and good portions. The service was excellent too, attentive without being intrusive. Can highly recommended this gem of a place

Fantastic night, Loved everything, the building, the atmosphere, the service. Jade was brilliant (all the best with your baby boy) and the amazing food. The whole “giving back” ethos is super impressive too!

Beautiful setting, last time we were in the building was for our 12 yr old nieces christening.

Amazing place to eat. Me and husband went on my birthday on 1st Feb. It was our first visit and I was just amazed at how beautiful it is. So many original features! The food was amazing, and the atmosphere perfect for a lovely romantic meal! Would recommend to anyone!
