Are the media right? Is social media damaging for young people? Or can social media be a safe space where people with mental health problems can express themselves and open up about their feelings?
We asked our young champion Natalya her view and what tips she has for staying safe online.

The Government’s announcement yesterday that they are dropping the harmful plans for supported housing is wonderful news! It means that thousands of people with mental illness who live in supported housing will have the support they need to thrive in the community and stay well. We want to thank everyone that has emailed their MP, shared our work and campaigned tirelessly on behalf of everyone who would have been affected by these plans.
We spoke with Dave Rains, who manages ...our Willow Lodge supported housing service in Folkestone:
“It’s the best news I’ve had for months! It’s a great relief for all concerned as the Government’s plans would’ve had a devastating effect on our tenants and the service.”

We’re hugely relieved that supported housing will continue to be paid for through the benefits system, giving thousands of people much needed reassurance that their homes are safe from cuts & closure.
Thanks especially to everyone who emailed their MP and campaigned on behalf of everyone who would have been affected by this. Your collective voice made this change happen. Thank you ‚úä

"As a communication tool, to connect potentially isolated young people with a like-minded and supportive community, social media can actually improve mental health."
Whatever your age, do you find social media a help or a hindrance to your mental health? Do you have any rules about how you use it to keep your usage in check?
