Reut Sapir Naturopathy & Yoga Description

As a Naturopath, I believe that each of us have the potential to nourish ourselves to good health and wellbeing through balancing ourselves both physically and emotionally.
Naturopathy can help with a wide range of health problems such as diabetes, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalance, anxiety, weight management and more.
Based in Cheltenham, I offer a preventative and holistic approach to obtaining good health and wellbeing, which takes into account the body as a whole and each individual's unique circumstances. We will work together to establish a nutritional plan and lifestyle adjustments, as well as subscribe herbal medicine and supplements if require, that will address the root cause of the illness rather than just its symptoms, whilst using the body's natural forces and vitality to help gain physical and mental harmony.

Pregnancy is a long journey of physical and emotional changes. Supporting and caring for yourself is vital for yourself and your baby and will set you off for a healthy start to motherhood, which has its own challenges.
In class, you will learn how to manage and improve those physical and emotional changes; like anxiety, insomnia, lower back pain, pelvic girdle pain, heartburns and others.
At Rosieglo yoga we hold small intimate classes where you can get to know other mamas... and be in a supportive and fun environment.
Pregnancy Yoga at Rosieglo yoga, every Tuesday at 6pm. Follow the link below to book your place - https://rosieglo.co.uk/pregnancy-yoga/

Plant based magic for my lunch today. Roasted aubergines, steamed golden beetroot, avocado, sprouts, cherry tomatoes and kale. This is plant POWER!
I love making these bowls, mixing different types of textures, colours and flavours. It also means that you're nourishing yourself with a wide variety of vitamins and minerals.
I get asked a lot about kale - what do I do with it?? ... *raw kale for salads - cut kale finely and then massage (literally) with lemon and olive oil. Kale turns greener and softer, making it easier to digest and increases absorption of its many vitamins and minerals. *soups or stews - cut kale finely and add towards end of cooking. *sauteed kale - add to frittatas, noodles, fried rice, pasta *add raw to smoothies

A Summery Chia Pudding... you know I love it! It's a great summer breakfast, chilled and light, easy to make and keeps you full and nourished.
I top mine with granola, fruits and cacao nibs. Raw cacao contains a variety of unique phytonutrients, including high amounts of sulfur, magnesium and phenylethylamine. Which among other benefits, improves focus and alertness, while also keeping you in a great mood. Cacao nibs have more antioxidant activity than tea, wine, blueberries and even goji berries. Ultimately, it’s the flavonoids in cacao that makes it an above-and-beyond superfood. Give it a go!

Seriously, juice is NOT healthy.
"...Despite all the marketing and government support, fruit juices contain limited nutrients and tons of sugar. In fact, one 12-ounce glass of orange juice contains 10 teaspoons of sugar, which is roughly what’s in a can of Coke."
"Drinking fruit juice is not the same as eating whole fruit. Juices contain more concentrated sugar and calories. Because juice can be consumed quickly, it is more likely than whole fruit to contribute to excess car...bohydrate intake. For example, research has found that adults who drank apple juice before a meal felt hungrier and ate more calories than those who started with an apple instead. Children who drink juice instead of eating fruit may similarly feel less full and may be more likely to snack throughout the day."

Gut health is crucial for your overall health, influencing the nervous system, immune system and of course your digestive health. Here is a great video explaining how the food we eat affects our gut!

A beautiful delicious bowl of fresh pasta and greens.
I recently had a session with a patient who the thought of having pasta will make her feel guilty, anxious, weak and numerous other negative feelings. Food is nourishment and how we take care of our body, we also need to think about the way it makes us feel.
We always need to come back to what is our relationship towards ourselves and towards food. If you’re on a journey to change your eating habits, work on peeling off the layers and emotions you have towards different foods and how they make you feel. It is as important as what you eat. Be kind and loving to yourself and respect yourself and your body.

An inspiring testimonial by a lovely patient of mine who walked into my clinic with aching muscles and not being able to walk more than 15 minutes. She has worked hard and she's now doing amazingly well. I learn so much from my patients and I'm so grateful and humbled to walk beside them on their journey. Neals Yard Remedies Cheltenham
"I have been seeing Reut for three months now and she has transformed my life. I had spent eighteen months with tired, aching muscles that ma...de simple tasks difficult and sleeping challenging. Steroids and conventional medicines hadn't helped. Reut's calm and methodical approach to my care quickly enabled her to identify several factors that were likely to be affecting my health. I was able to discuss one course of treatment with my GP following Reut's advice and with careful consideration of diet, the use of herbal medicine and reflexology, I feel so much better. I am continuing to see Reut as reflexology is having such a positive effect on my sleeping and general well-being. She has also helped me with simple breathing techniques and improving my posture and alignment. Going forward, we will continue to look at nutrition and treat other issues I'm having . I cannot recommend Reut highly enough; I am so pleased that I made the decision to see her."

Huge news for women's menstrual health! As laid out by the NYTimes below. If you suffer from menopause, PCOS, heavy periods or other hormonal issues, read the research and please contact me, a naturopath, to guide you the natural way to balance your hormones.
This research proves that functional nutrition will be seen as real treatment for menstrual health instead of medication. It validates the functional nutrition approach to menstruation and that you are in control of you...r health and your period and you CAN have a better period for longer in your life - hugely empowering.
"...each additional two-and-a-half-ounce portion a day of fresh legumes (like peas or beans), menopause was delayed by about one year, and for each additional three-ounce portion of oily fish, by about three years. Eating refined rice and pasta, on the other hand, was associated with an earlier age of menopause."

Supplements are becoming increasingly popular and are a vital part of integrative medicine. I use supplements and herbal medicine in my practice, helping patients with various symptoms and aliments and is a key part of their healing journey.
Not all supplements are created equally, and like with anything, choose wisely and do your own quality control. My best advice is to consult a professional before spending money on multiple supplements that might not be suitable.
For ex...ample, fish oil or omega 3 supplements - which kind of fish is used and where was it grown? Where has it been stored - out on the shelf, in the sun, or in a fridge? What is the reason for taking the supplement - that would help guide you in the right direction. But again, a Naturopath will give you the best advice.
Got a question? Comment below or message me.
Here's a good link from Bastyr University about what to look for in supplements - https://bastyr.edu/…/…/2015/08/vitami ns-and-supplements-101…

Pregnancy Yoga classes with me every Tuesday 6pm Rosieglo yoga in Leckhampton, Bath Road.
"I attended a private yoga class with Reut in the 20th week of my pregnancy. At the beginning of the class we went through any pregnancy niggles (such as some minor sciatica) that I was having and any poses that I was finding difficult now in comparison to my usual practice. We started with breathing exercises then moved on to a flowing yoga practice, finishing with a relaxing Shavasana.... Reut tailored the class to my level and made sure that I was happy with how the poses were feeling along the way. She was reassuring at the right times and suggested slight adjustments when needed so that I felt maximum benefit from the poses. She also was really helpful in suggesting some alternatives to poses that I missed doing and suggested some specific poses to help with my sciatica pain. I really enjoyed the class have really benefitted from doing the alternative poses since the class."

I've been seeing Reut now for just over 3 months as I was struggling to lose weight after having treatment for breast cancer. I've been having reflexology and naturopathy combined and thanks to Reut I'm now shifting the weight. Reut is very patient and understanding and really helpful. She cares about her clients and loves to see them getting results.
