Reverend Jw Simpson Description

"Welcome to my house, and please make yourself at home.

My disciples Kelley, Antoine, Alex and Marco are all budding experts in their fields, and together with lead disciple Mikey, they are well-prepared to take you on a journey through the world of convivial libations, spirits and wines.

I've always had a particular affinity with bartenders and the like. My early life was spent traveling the world, sometimes for pleasure, other times for duty. From my time in New York, where I once lived above a bar and passed time in conversation with the staff and colourful patrons; through to my travels around the globe; I have supped and spoken of – and sometimes even witnessed the birth of – cocktails and mixed drinks that were to become the classics of the modern world.

Before my latter years as a cleric I considered myself privileged to peak behind this veil in all its glory - From an Aviation to a Zombie, I've tried them all. Now, my disciples are bridging the gap between the traditional and the classic with the modern and cutting edge in order to bring you interesting and innovative beverages for your imbibing pleasure.

We very much look forward to entertaining yourself and your friends over a drink and an anecdote or three, and becoming part of your omnibibulous adventure. "

The birth of Japanese whisky is both beautiful & tragic, with the early attempts at recreating the magic nectar of Scotland in Japan finally coming to fruition with the birth of the two great Japanese whisky houses, and culminating in the incredibly intricate & complex liquids produced by Japan which are recognised by experts and aficionados as some of the best whiskies in the world today.
We’ll hear these stories and more while enjoying the whisky both neat and in carefully prepared mixed drinks.

Angostura® aromatic bitters has not been changed since the first bottle was introduced to the world in 1824.
Besides being a Royal Warrant holder to the Queen of England for its Angostura® aromatic bitters, the company has successfully marketed its iconic bitters globally and has a geographic reach into 170 markets.
Many of the brands have been around for generations in Trinidad and Tobago, our core rum market. Angostura’s international rums have won gold medals at many inter...national competitions in the past decade and have been named ‘the world’s most awarded rum range’ by the Rum Masters.
The latest innovation from the House of Angostura. Amaro di ANGOSTURA® is derived from the bespoke process used in creating the House of Angostura’s iconic aromatic bitters. It is a deep amber colour, offering aromas of cinnamon, dark chocolate and unmistakeable ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters. The finish is perfectly balanced, exotic, lush and reminiscent of the essence of Trinidad and Tobago’s pulsating rhythms, tropical climate and beauty.
We’ll explore the liquid, it’s homeland and some specially created cocktails.

The Real McCoy® Rum is based on the story of Bill McCoy, the pioneer rum runner of the Prohibition era. In January of 1920, McCoy was the first to fill a boat with alcohol in the Caribbean, sail it up to New York City, and legally act as a floating liquor store three miles off shore. McCoy was careful to always stay outside the three mile limit, which was international waters in the early days of Prohibition in America.
McCoy made a name for himself because he never adulterat...ed the alcohol. While copy-cat rum runners would dilute their alcohol with wicked chemicals like turpentine, wood alcohol and prune juice, McCoy never did. The sullied products were nicknamed "Booze," "Hooch" and "Rot Gut," while McCoy’s quality spirits became known as "The Real McCoy." Find out more about this amazing story while sipping on the Real McCoy rums and cocktails.

What a surprise! Found this place by accident. So glad we did. Hidden in a little basement of fabulousness. Such lovely cocktails, the best I have had in ages ( Va Va Vroom is superb). And the staff are great too with a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be going back!

Great cocktails. Very helpful staff. Decor reminded me of parents living room circa 1990. Staff brought free water to the table and came to top up at regular intervals. Would definitely come here again. I think the Lounge Lizard is going to be one of favourite cocktails!

Absolutely awesome! We arrived for a gin tasting session which had been cancelled by the company we booked with. The bar staff were so amazing and sympathetic and made us feel very welcome. They even allowed us to make our own cocktail! Such a brilliant night and wouldn't hesitate to go again!!!

A quirky hidden away bar in Googe street but a delight to find. Great ambiance and great staff. Cocktails are amazing and I was introduced to Curious Brew, a lager brewed in Kent by Chapel Down, an English wine producer no less!
