Revolution Torquay

We had an amazing night at Revolution Torquay last night when my friend won the competition for food on Facebook. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend it.

I was really lucky to win a 3 course meal for two people from Revolution. I went on a Friday night with my partner and although it was busy every staff member was friendly and attentive. The food was really tasty with big portions and the drinks were reasonably priced too. 5/5 I would definitely recommend for great food, staff & music :)

Had a lovely evening on Valentine’s Day was greeted by Ellis who was super friendly taken to our table which was set out with roses and heart gems, she always has a big smile on her face and nothing was too much trouble to ask.

Would highly recommended a night out here to any one and great cocktails !!!

Had a brilliant night last night we were a party of 16 who pre booked. The food came out quickly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for helping to make it an enjoyable night!

A massive thank you to the guy who handed my phone into the doorman tonight. I really appreciate it. � The doorman was very friendly about it and gave it straight back and even pointed out the guy who handed it in. So thank you.

Visiting Torquay for the day, decided to go to Revolution for dinner. Food was really good, couldn't fault it. Unfortunately it then went downhill, we decided to stay for cocktails and waited at bar for 20 mins to be served, only one member of staff serving during happy hour and there were two other customers in front of us. Wasn't even acknowledged, so left. Really need to sort the staffing out.

Will take eons for your order to be taken, then an eternity for your food or drink to arrive. Then there’s a 80% chance it will be wrong. The cocktails are ok... if pretty small and weak. I like my cocktails like I like my men; with a bit of umph! If I fancied a watered down glass of nothing then I’d have ordered a Designated Driver. Or a cocktail that includes Redbull - shouldn’t just concist of it.



The only thing that does salvage this place is that the food and drink is good for the reasonably price. The food is actually usually very good. Usually. If not then it’s either over cooked or undercooked or just cold. Like the service.

The food was absolutely lovely but the customer service was awful!! Took ages for them to come up to us to ask her what we wanted to eat and then after finishing our meal it took them 20/25 minutes for them to come up and ask if we wanted dessert I would understand if the place was busy but unfortunately it was dead in there and no need for slow service. Then when we ask for the bill she never returned with it. We could of easily walked out without paying because they don’t pay attention. We had to go up to the bar 20 minutes later to pay for our food.

Don’t think I’ll be going there again

So currently sat at a table asked a waitress after waiting 10 minutes if we could have some menus she then replied yep there over there we are now 20 minutes in and not one person has come to ask us if we're ready to order.

3 waitress have passed us now they have asked every table by us if they ok and completely walked past us!!

Customer service? We're still yet to receive some.

I came for a quick bite to eat so just ordered a sandwich, with the hubby.

Only had one person on till so tock ages to be served. Also my loyalty card had expired apperently but she didnt offer a new one so we missed any deals.

Service tock ages to then be served stale bread and i mean stale. I ordered the fish finger sandwich which literally haf one goujon inside cut in half. We asked for some water which never arrived. Very disappointed with food, service, and staff customer service. Hope this was just an off day and not how the place is run.

Food was ok, staff was ok but a pint and a glass of wine £16 +, total rip off, won't be calling there again.�

well refund paid into bank acc today, only took 5 weeks to get it back.

anyway it happens ,at least they did a refund.

Went to a quiz night and the ‘quiz master’ was awful he didn’t have a clue what he was talking about he had to redo at least 4 questions as he put the correct answer as actually an incorrect answer, he also didn’t know how to pronounce half the words in the Harry Potter quiz you think he would have researched it a little bit! Went on way longer than it needed too, hope the one in may isn’t as bad!!! Thank god it was free!

Told a 40 minute wait, and I’m reviewing an hour later.



1 hour in: Asked server for an update 10 minutes ago, and she walked off without apologising and hasn’t been back since, though has passed us several times.



1 hour 10 minutes in: told food had been taken to another table and offered that a manager would take an unspecified percentage off if we stayed.



1 hour 20 minutes in: Someone asked if we had ordered wings. We had not. Still waiting.



1 hour 30 minutes in: Someone tries to deliver some smokey burgers to our table. They are then misdelivered to another table and eventually reach their destination. Shortly after, we then receive our food. No apology or reference to the delay.



Burger was fine, but soggy. Club sandwich was okay.



Cheque arrived with 2 ‘free’ revs cards (woo!) and £2.48 off a £27.65 bill. Not happy.

Tables left uncleaned..

£10:30 ..for double gin & tonic..and half a larger and lime.

Totally empty at 3: in afternoon on a hot sat ..19th may.

Crap music too loud ..



Would Never go back

Second time I have been here and again a complete mess up with the bill and food, the revolution card is a complete waste of time and money, didn't get a discount with the food like we was told to before we even ordered drinks was supposed to be 241 before 9, not worth the money we had to pay, highly disappointed!

Numerous occasions I have visited. Every time the service has been at snail pace. If your going to serve cocktails then you need a dedicated team of 3 or 4 members just doing that with how long it seems to take. To Wait over 40minutes alone for a drink is ridiculous, to then wait even longer for food, which was average when it arrives. Not something you expect for the price you have to pay. Especially when on one occasion my son waited over 45 mins for an ice cream sundae, thought they’d gone milking the cow! You can walk down the road to get faster service and decent food for a lesser price.

If there was an option for zero stars, that’s what I would give!

Went in yesterday for lunch, took about 15 minutes for my order to be taken at the bar (ordered a wrap and a burger)

45 minutes after our order was placed I asked for an update on where our food was.....”it’s just being done” I was told and “we’ve had a problem with our tills”. Surely if there is an issue it’s polite to tell your customers rather than them have to come to chase you up?!?

We cancelled our order and left without eating.....whilst at the bar getting our refund, 3 other people also came up to cancel as they also felt they’d been waiting too long....two ladies had been waiting over an hour for two salads!!

Needless to say it wasn’t a great experience and we won’t be returning to any Revolution any time soon �

I have given it one star because it won’t let me give it no stars. We thought we were in the Green Ginger but realised we weren’t so we thought we’d give it a go. Big mistake, it was fairly quiet until a load of youngsters turned up drunk, we had already ordered food so it was too late to leave. My partner ordered the curry but was very disappointed when it arrived in a soup bowl with what he presumed was rice!!! Well I suppose it started off life as rice but finished up on his soup bowl as three lumps of rice. In the chefs defence, the chicken ( we think ) in a curry sauce wasn’t too bad lol. He mentioned to one of the waiters that the rice was probably in the microwave a bit too long and would he mention it to the chef, to which the waiter replied he would and took the plate away. We waited quite a while for a response but failed to get one so we finished our drinks and left...

Booked a table, arrived, waited 20 mins. Noone seated us so we just sat at any old table with a reserved sign. To which non of the staff said anything. We had to stop a waitress to ask for service as we were just ignored. Little wait on food and when it arrived it was unsatisfactory. Wasn't asked by the waitress if we needed anything else, sauces etc. Had to get up and grab our own sauces from the waiters caddy! Food was poor, service was terrible. Cocktails we're overpriced and tasted like water. Atmosphere was too hectic. Had to ask the DJ to turn the music down as it was so loud! Couldn't see my food in front of me due to the dismal lighting and the disco lights flashing like a night club! At the end of the meal, my friends and I popped outside for a smoke. No one batted an eye! We could have just left. But because we're good people we went back inside and waited 10 mins to pay before a waitress showed up. As we booked in advance we got discount on our meals which was the only good thing about this place! I will not be recommending this to anyone! We all agreed we'd rather have gone next door for a dine in dominoes!!
